WHY IS GOVERNMENT STOCKPILING GUNS, AMMO?

Exclusive: Joseph Farah examines Obama's plan for 'civilian national security force'

Why does the civilian Department of Homeland Security need billions of rounds of ammunition?
This is the agency that is responsible for policing the border. But it doesn’t.
This is the agency that is responsible for catching terrorists. But it doesn’t.
So why does Homeland Security need so many weapons and enough hollow-point rounds to plug every American six times?

Stockpiling ... or just regular acquisition and procurement of supplies they use.

You may recently have seen some in the Internet rumor mill feverishly repeating the obvious truth above, in an effort to stir up fear about recent acquisitions of ammunition by the Department of Homeland Security and a number of smaller agencies.
After receiving numerous questions from his constituents regarding the contract, pro-Second Amendment U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.) and his staff set out in search of the truth. In a press release, Rep. Westmoreland's office explains:
In fact, there are 65,000 – 70,000 law enforcement personnel at DHS who would be covered under this … ammunition contract. If DHS were to purchase all 450 million rounds over 5 years, then that would equate to only about 1,384 rounds of ammo per year per law enforcement [officer] … assuming the lower estimate of only 65,000 law enforcement personnel at DHS. Considering those agents go through training exercises several times per year, that is not a lot of ammunition.
In other words ... move on to something credible, instead of fanning the flames of a candle attempting to ignite a fire.

As most gun owners will agree, skepticism of government is healthy. But today, there are more than enough actual threats to the Second Amendment to keep gun owners busy.

Somebody needs to adjust their tin foil space ship hat.

Q: Is Obama planning a Gestapo-like "civilian national security force"?

A: This false claim is a badly distorted version of Obama’s call for doubling the Peace Corps, creating volunteer networks and increasing the size of the Foreign Service.
Obama was not talking about a "security force" with guns or police powers. He was talking specifically about expanding AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps and the USA Freedom Corps, which is the volunteer initiative launched by the Bush administration after the attacks of 9/11, and about increasing the number of trained Foreign Service officers who populate U.S. embassies overseas.

    What Did Obama mean by
“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
And why did it go unquestioned.

It did not go unquestioned .... you just need to read the whole statement:

We need to use technology to connect people to service. We’ll expand USA Freedom Corps to create online networks where American can browse opportunities to volunteer. You’ll be able to search by category, time commitment and skill sets. You’ll be able to rate service opportunities, build service networks, and create your own service pages to track your hours and activities.

This will empower more Americans to craft their own service agenda and make their own change from the bottom up.
The above quote picks up directly after the sentence you quoted above.

Does that sound like a force that could kick down your door in the middle of the night and haul you off to a Gulag or concentration camp?

I see that as a different statement
Sure doesn't sound like it needs to be as well funded now does it?
Perhaps someone like you, retired, needs to be mandated to Volunteer your services for the good of all?

Different statement ? It is quoted directly from the source, all in one paragraph.
Where did it say anything about "mandating" a requirement to volunteer ?
Besides, your unemployed. What about you ?

You have stated previously that you took part time jobs and quit.
Sorry, I was under the impression you were not working full time.
I deserve my retirement after 45 years of work.
Any volunteering I do would be my choice.
