Default Obama admits: 'energy is going to be a little more expensive'

OBAMA ADMITS: 'ENERGY IS GOING TO BE A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE'

During a Friday Google+ hangout session, President Barack Obama conceded that his policies to address climate change will raise energy costs, a fact that could prove uncomfortable for Democrats in areas reliant on fossil fuel power plants:

And Obama’s former Energy Secretary Steven Chu infamously told the Wall Street Journal “somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”
A gallon of gas now costs double what it did on the first day of Obama’s first term.

Let's step back a little and look at gas prices over time.
Let's also ask ourselves if the President really has any control over the price of gas, which is an item for sale, to anyone, on the open market. Subject to supply and demand, other market conditions and like any other thing we buy, it's sold by a corporation or company in business to make a profit.

Here is a one-item test to see whether you are guilty of cloudy thinking about gas prices: Do you believe that they are something a president can control? Many Americans believe that the answer is yes, but any respectable economist will tell you that the answer is no.
If you’re not convinced by economic theory or the opinions of economists, consider some recent history. Presumably, no one would call President George W. Bush unfriendly to the oil industry. Yet the price of gasoline rose steadily during most of his administration. In February 2001, just after Mr. Bush took office, the average price of regular gasoline was $1.45 a gallon. By June 2008, that price had risen to $4.05. Still think presidents and oil-friendly policies can determine oil prices?

Why didn't President Bush control the price of gas ?
    Because he couldn't ?
Or because he didn't want too ?

Like the price and supply of guns and Ammo there is a lot a president can do to effect price.
We will become a Natural Gas Country with falling prices and supply. All this not from Obama but despite him. All this drilling is taking place on private property which he has yet any control. Perhaps he will add an EPA Reg Drilling fee of half a mil dollars or something.

"In the past four years, EPA has hindered development of our nation's oil and natural gas resources by making it difficult for America's independent producers to overcome the enormous regulatory obstacles to operate," said Julia Bell, spokeswoman for the Independent Petroleum Association of America.
You think that might make a Presidents actions able to control prices?

President Barack Obama's plan involves raising the price of oil, coal, and natural gas to force America to embrace energy resources that are deemed clean and green, such as wind and solar. As he stated before his 2008 election, his plan was to make energy prices "necessarily skyrocket" to make expensive, inefficient forms of energy more competitive.
Problem is there just not ready for prime time. There is no alternative yet to replace this energy.

    Here's the reason.

Obama Continues to Shut Down Power Plants and Push Up Electricity Costs | Lubbock Online | Lubbock Avalanche-Journal

Unprecedented number of US coal-fired power stations to be shut down in 2012

I am sure that doesn't help those union jobs who happen to be electricians, does it?
