Protesters rip efforts touted by governor
Good for them!!
About 70 people Thursday protested Michigan’s right-to-work laws, school funding cuts and business tax breaks— all of which Gov. Rick Snyder later touted as signs of progress nearby inside Crystal Gardens banquet center in Genoa Township.
Snyder was keynote speaker for the Livingston County Republican Party’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner fundraiser.
The protesters lined Grand River Avenue fronting Crystal Gardens about two hours before Snyder arrived in hopes the Republican governor would see them before entering the building. They were primarily members of a Livingston County-based Michigan Education Association political action committee, the Citizens Against Government Overreach advocacy group, county Democratic Party and a Sierra Club chapter.
