Default Happy 100th Birthday Income Taxes! Or How the Rich Have Gamed the System to Pay a Sma

The reality is that, overall, the US has one of the lowest tax burdens in the industrial world. If someone’s tax burden is too great to bear, that probably means that someone else isn’t paying a fair share of the cost of maintaining the public services that a modern nation-state requires.

For example, one can certainly say that state and local taxes are too high for poorer residents of Washington State. According to a recent study, those in the bottom 20 percent of the economic pile fork over almost 17 percent of their incomes to Olympia, while the middle 20 percent pay about 10 percent and those at the top – the wealthiest one percent of Washington households – pay less than three percent.

Well Duh.. naturally the Rich will pay a smaller percentage. But where does it say that one has to be penalized for their efforts of succeeding in America? There is a point that they stop risking their money and withdraw from the economy.

Were does it say that the middle class must bear the burden for those that "withdraw" from society ?
They still use all the services afforded to a citizen ... wouldn't they ?
Police, Fire, EMT / Medical and any other government provided services.
Get off the "rich are entitled to everything" mantra.

Even Middle Class Americans are the top 1% of the world. At some point they are coming after you. Share the wealth, redistribute. Oh that is what the Carbon Tax is.

You Think you Need a 2 trillion dollar budget for that?
It's easy to withdraw from society when everything is provided. It is becoming the more you withdraw the more you can have, why try.
The truly needy are being punished from the truly lazy from the wealth they take.

All of the public asked for the government services we have. The elected officials enacted the laws and programs we asked for.
The cost for those programs add up.
How do you propose to punish the "truly lazy" without it affecting everyone ?

BTW, the wealthy don't withdraw from society, they just move to places that cater to the wealthy.
They continue to spend money to support their opulent lifestyles.

Tariffs actually created a surplus before 1913. Lincoln had a wartime tax and 8leveland had an unconstitutional flat tax on the rich....those were temperary...........but income taxes must've come to lower tariffs......if we had tariffs instead of taxes we'd have tons of jobs and minimal imports and we might even have a surplus.

You want a flat tax and that would be higher than the 3% they are already paying now. Are you trying to hose the rich Strappy?
