Default Hershey's Move To Mexico Thank You NAFTA

A sad story for those of us who remember growing up with Hershey bars, and just as sad for the generations of today. What will be outsourced next?

Pennsylvania is a big state, but it amazes me in this day, how some news doesn't make it over the mountain to the front page of our papers or the top
Of our news hours in Western Pennsylvania. Milton Hershey, this year, will be joining H. J Heinz in rolling over in his grave. Hershey Chocolate is moving to MEXICO ...whoopee! They're even closing down Hershey Canada . Don't buy any more Hershey Bars. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are my favorite and
they are made by Hershey. But, I will not purchase Another one!

I live about 5 miles from the plant. What a shame. They made it look like they were doing something great for the ones losing their jobs by offering minimum buyouts. The rest of Hershey Inc (or HERCO ) employees work for minimum wage with no benefits available to them. After I retired I went to work as a maintaince worker for the park and I tried to convince them to offer somekind of benefit package in order to keep good employees but they wanted nothing to do with it so now this year they are having trouble finding people to work for them. My son went to work for Hershey entertainment when he graduated from High School and he really loved the job but after 11 years with them he realized he didn't have any benefits so now he works for target Stores. At least now he has benefits and a little better wage. Not much but a little better wage.

Can somebody tell me what the smelly stench in the air belongs to, that I can't find.
How does a traditionally labor friendly party leader, like Bill Clinton, send millions of jobs out of the country. I will publicly admit for the first time, that I was one of the millions who snickered when I heard, "you will hear a giant sucking sound........" And we all know the rest of that story.
I'm no friend of Bush, but I think Bill started it and George is taking the hit for it. But hey, it's not like the "word bumbling idiot" doesn't deserve it.

Admission #2: We went back east for an educational trip to DC and Philly. The Hershey's factory was the main goal of my trip. HEHEHE. If only ida' known.

I've delivered and picked up at the plant a few times and they used to give ya candy..You could take a few pieces like the big bars or bags of kisses or assorted pieces untill guys started getting greedy and started to take cases of candy.Needless to say that put an end to that. Now when I worked at the park we used to get cases of candy after the different events were over and the candy was left over cases..I still have a few friends who work there and i still get in for free when they are working the back employee gates.

Sad day in America when something as American as a snickers will be made by some guy named Paco.. That Bazooka Joe's bubble gum is also made in Mexico now.. Perot was right about the sucking sound.I'd like to see one of these political leaders get back to basics and start tarriffing foriegn goods again. The answer is on a 10 dollar bill, Alexander Hamilton intituted alot of protections for domestic workers in the form of tarriffs and slowly the leaders in the last few years have gotten rid of them so the "major campaign donors" can outsource everything for pennies an hour. It's a darn shame I am always hearing a certian radio "hot-shot" cry about the founding fathers and thier intentions, looks to me the gave Alexander the finger. (and alot of people listen and practically worship this BOZO)

here is an idea, when these companies relocate, quit buying from them. I think its getting harder to find anything made in this country any more. Which is good that means I have to buy less. Who says it's too expensive to BUY AMERICAN
