    Default Obama speak last week

As he left the Constitutional Convention in 1787, having signed the document that still serves as the bedrock of our national life today, Benjamin Franklin was asked what kind of government had been constructed for the newly United States.

"A republic," he famously responded, "if you can keep it."

That challenge has echoed down through the centuries, as each generation of Americans has faced the burdens of their age.

Yesterday, in words that echoed Franklin's, Senator Barack Obama did something truly unusual for a politician in our day and age: he challenged us.

I hear ya, It would be nice to know who the running mates for these canidates will be. i heard Richardson endorsed obama which is quite the slam to hillary since richardson was on wild bills cabinet and close with the clintons, I agree with you that we should not vote for obama just because hoffa put his support with him, I guess I look at mcain and hillary and think more of the same old crap. everyone talks about obama and his lack of experience, I guess I find that a positive, maybe we need a rookie type in DC I know it cant be no worse that what we have had, as long as you surround yourself with a strong supporting cast in your cabinet. I think if Edwards puts his support with obama that it would definitely tip the scales in favor of obama.. but thats just an old slackers opinion from up north..

I really feel that our problems will continue as long as lobbying does. Hillary and McCain are both lifetime politicians. We need a labor party.

We've already had 8 years of someone who makes stupid mistakes and can't/won't admit it. It's cost us thousands of lives already. I don't know, maybe I'm looking for someone with all the answers only because we have someone now who has NONE of the answers.
Not to mention BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of dollars, too.

Now your talkin' seems both parties have left working America behind many moons ago. I listen to Thom Hartman alot this guy makes alot of sense. I just wish more people listened to him and turned off Rush, Hannity, Reagan, and Savage.. These clowns have no clue on what working America is about all they preach is the crap their corporate sponsors want to spoon feed us.Too bad the Unions couldn't somehow get the ball rolling that direction, that Perot guy almost started something with the reform party, maybe someday someone who isn't like (crazy as a loon) will step up to the plate. I honestly believe if a candidate addressed working America's woes correctly we coulld see a new party in the Oval Office. After all there are far more working stiffs than overpaid CEO types.

It was Ross Perot who talked about "The Giant Sucking Sound", I bet more people would listen now.
