Wage Theft Bill Unanimously Passes First Vote
Look at all those D's that sponsored this bill. Of course. Because Republicans do not watch out for anyone but themselves.
A bill that aims to increase the penalties and fines for wage theft—when a company illegally withholds an employee's wages, or denies benefits—unanimously passed the first vote and reading by the D.C. Council today.
The "Wage Theft Prevention Act of 2014," which was authored by Councilmember Vincent Orange (D-At Large) and introduced in February along with Councilmembers Mary Cheh (D-Ward 3) and Jim Graham (D-Ward 2) "establishes penalties to employers who fail to pay earned wages, and establishes protection for workers, including prohibiting retribution to employees who file a complaint," a release states.

Re: Wage Theft Bill Unanimously Passes First Vote
And no other party does? Dems don't piss on labor near as hard as the republicants. They all have their dues to pay to their donors but look who supports all the union busting legislature. It sure as hell isn't the Dems. Just to clue you in. I was a staunch Ross Perot supporter. There hasn't been a republican worthy of a labor vote in decades. I pissed one away on Bush lite the first time. Never again.
