    Job losses mount, recession feared

By Joanne Morrison 1 hour, 11 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Employers cut payrolls for a third consecutive month in March and the jobless rate jumped to a 2-1/2 year high, adding more evidence that a housing downturn and credit crisis may have pushed the economy into recession..........................

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke admitted to Congress this week a recession was possible. "It's clearly a period of very slow growth extending back to the fourth quarter of last year, and we are trying to set our policies appropriately for that situation," he added.
Possible I think we are way into one.

I coulda told Reuters last year we were headed.Straight down the toilet it did not take a monkey to see this coming the writing was on the wall long ago. I know here in The Ozarks,, WillowBrook Foods is shutting down next week at a total of 780 jobs not to mention the Turkey Farmers who grow for them and the people counting on them for survival probably puts a real figure on about 1000 people affected.. In Camdenton Missouri Modine Radiators says the are closing in 18 months, just a few more folks who are most likely victims of "Free Trade"... And now I hear General Motors is going to use a loophole to import chinese cars to Mexico ship them here from down there to beat the tarriffs on chinese cars. ( betcha they won't be any cheaper )
Capitalism is only intended to make the rich richer do not believe the smoke they are blowing up our a$$e$ about how it is great for us. Because the last 7 years of this rubbish have left many good people in despair and many millionaires are now billionaires. Where is the good in that ????

I will have to say up here is nodak jobs are still plentiful and I mean good ones to, there is a oil boom going on up here, trucking companies are having a hard time filling positions because everyone is heading to the oilfield to make twice as much, there also is a pipeline being built that will run from canada through ND, over to illinois and down to oklahoma. the way it sounds the pipeline will be built mostly by various unions including the teamsters.

I should head over there, to drink Pabst and work on the pipelines, we could be neighbors! Here would be my new sign....
