Top Koch Strategist Argues The Minimum Wage Leads Directly To Fascism
I will say it again. These guys are just scary.
At a political strategy summit hosted on June 16 by the conservative billionaires Charles and David Koch, Richard Fink, their top political strategist, told the private audience that when he sees someone “on the street” he says, “Get off your ass, and work hard like we did.” Fink's anecdote came during his presentation titled “The Long-Term Strategy: Engaging the Middle Third,” which capped off a session of four speeches detailing the intellectual foundation of Charles Koch’s political ideology. Audio of the event was obtained by The Undercurrent and shared exclusively with The Huffington Post.Koch refrained from drawing explicit parallels to fascists, but his lieutenants did not. (Perhaps he learned from a past audio leak wherein he seemed to liken President Barack Obama to Saddam Hussein.) Ruger warned that liberalism sets society on a march toward the fate of totalitarian North Korea. “We clearly see the difference between free societies and collectivist regimes in this nighttime satellite image of the Korean peninsula, where the collectivist north is literally in the dark due to its poverty,” said Ruger. “This is what collectivism gives you.”“Psychology shows that is the main recruiting ground for totalitarianism, for fascism, for conformism, when people feel like they’re victims,” said Fink. “So the big danger of minimum wage isn’t the fact that some people are being paid more than their value-added -- that’s not great. It’s not that it’s hard to stay in business -- that’s not great, either. But it’s the 500,000 people that will not have a job because of minimum wage.”

Re: Top Koch Strategist Argues The Minimum Wage Leads Directly To Fascism
poor misunderstood billionaires...
Evil billionaires have feelings,*too
At a private political strategy summit earlier this year, Charles Koch lamented that he and his brother David were being unfairly persecuted for their fight against liberalism and socialism.
According to audio of the June 16 event that was obtained by The Undercurrent and shared exclusively with The Huffington Post on Wednesday, the billionaire oil industrialist claimed he and his brother were "put squarely in front of the firing squad."
Yep. It's just like a firing squad, having people point out that they are spending hundreds of millions of dollars to buy seats—and a Republican majority—in the Senate. It's so unfair that people talk about that! And expose the lies rampant in their anti-Obamacare ads.
Here they are, just a couple of oil barons hoping to do their evil-doing outside of the public eye, and what happens next? The public notices and talks about it. Some other people make their own ads about it. That's not how the First Amendment is supposed to work. Goddamned democracy. No wonder they hate it so much.

Re: Top Koch Strategist Argues The Minimum Wage Leads Directly To Fascism
Get a job? Where? At what wage? People can't live on the minimum as it is. I guess when you have billions it's the poor guy's fault that you tilted the playing field so they can't be successful. Why can't those wage slaves just be happy with their lot?
I agree with Capmac. These guys, and their lieutenants, are seriously out of touch with what's left of the American middle class and the poor.

Re: Top Koch Strategist Argues The Minimum Wage Leads Directly To Fascism
This article is from 2010, but highlights much of what we think and know of the Koch's and their desire to control the government.
It does mention Richard Fink, but he had declined to be interviewed for the article, along with the Koch's.
