It looks like this is a letter to the editor. Short but to the point and I like it.

I have been a union member for 30 years, and this is the first time I have ever heard it’s a socialist organization. I was under the assumption that my wages provided for a middle-class lifestyle so I could contribute to the economy by affording housing, new car, college education for my children, etc.

Simple economics: Folks with better wages help the economy vs. low wages and government assistance. Believe me, if I knew my union was involved in socialist activities, I would withdraw immediately.
Letter: Labor unions have no connection to socialism
