Question U.S. to give $200M in food aid

U.S. to give $200M in food aid

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.S. President George W. Bush has ordered the release of $200 million in emergency aid to help countries where the soaring cost of basic food has spurred riots and instability.
The announcement follows an appeal to the international community by World Bank President Robert Zoellick.

"The international community must fill the at least a $500 million food gap identified by the U.N.'s World Food Programme to meet emergency needs," he said. "Governments should be able to come up with this assistance and come up with it now."

The United States is the world's largest provider of food aid, delivering more than $2.1 billion in food aid to 78 countries last year, the White House said in a statement.

Who is going to come to our aid when it happens here?

How many of these 78 countries would give a fat rats *** about anything that happened to this country except to cheer if it was something bad?

What about relief for these outrageous gas prices? Food isn't cheap in the US either. Worry about the US first before we take care of third world countries.

These same people will be burning our flag because we didn't give enough. If I were president I would pull all our troops home from around the world. Close all bases around the world cut off all aid around the world..And give this warning: Screw with us now and pay the piper because we will get even.No troops just cruise missles from Submarines hiding in the worlds oceans just waiting to strike. Then I would tell the UN to find another place in the world to rule from.Oh yeah we would no longer be the lap dog for them. That way we would have enough troops to guard our own borders.let the rest of the world take care of their own damn problems.

I know this will never happen but wouldn't it be nice ?

If you help everyone in the world you won't be able to help your own people.

Where did "W" find the money ?? He has practically spent us into a mountian of debt that our kids will probably never be able to repay.
I have a few ideas to help and I hope one of the three hopefuls is reading this well thought out plan

#1. Give the troops an entire day off from the war, I hear it costs about a billion a day and send that billion to the "stop world hunger bunch".

#2. We buy back guns ?? So lets have a buy back on gas guzzlers if your car gets less than 15 mpg the USA will buy back your auto. This will require at least 20 days off for the troops and about 20 billion bucks. Then we all can buy cars that get a minimum 30+ mpg creating a lesser need on foriegn oil therefore driving the price down as the need for oil will be less..

#3. Give the troops another 30 days off and giving the American people the 30 billion to spend on goods and services the catch is the goods & services have to be genuine USA products.. This will create far more economic activity than that joke of a $600.00 dollar check coming in my mail box. Plus the troops will enjoy that much neede R&R...

    Disclaimer:
These are just some views from your host and may not reflect the views of the audience..I am just a simple man with simple solutions and I know the hopefuls are paying close attention...
