It isn't for lack of trying, or is it? Have you notified your local of the interest? Have you spoke with them and given them guidance?

The hope and the effort come from those that have experience, and aren't afraid to tell others what a union can do for them
The leadership can be simple, like going to your local union hall and telling them you would like to volunteer.

The hope, the leadership, the effort, lies with you. You don't work there yet you know they are ready? A simple conversation is all it takes. Being an ambassador for trade unionism Strappy. That building that says local xyz on it isn't the union. WE are!

Honestly, we all could find the time. What's a priority, what's not?

Unions Push Right to Work off the Table in Kentucky

Think voting really doesn’t matter? Talk to a pair of Kentucky labor leaders, and they'll tell you otherwise.

Union-endorsed candidates won three of four special House elections this month, "right to work" is dead for now in the General Assembly, according to Kentucky State AFL-CIO President Bill Londrigan and Bill Finn, Kentucky State Building and Construction Trades Council director.

State Senate President Robert Stivers (R) announced Friday that the Kentucky right to work act "is off the table this session. The sole reason was the Democrats holding on to a majority in the state House, which the Democrats now control 53–47."

This just really irks me. And again it is the GOP trying to block what would help working people.

'We're Dying Like Flies': Sick, Retired Coal Miners Betrayed by GOP Senators
"The country must not turn its back on coal miners," right-wing Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell told constituents in eastern Kentucky last week.

Yet coal miners—many "facing a slow death" from black lung and other deadly illnesses from a lifetime of mining coal—say that McConnell and other Senate Republicans are doing exactly that, the Associated Press reports.

McConnell has been repeatedly blocking a bill that would provide a pension plan and health benefits to about 13,000 retired coal miners in his home state.

By doing so, McConnell places his allegiance with coal barons, and not their workers.

    Good post.
So whose "digging coal" in the political spectrum ?
I think those that side up to the wealthy coal mine owners, special interest groups and ... republicans.
