It could cost about $60 million to replace the cruise missiles that the U.S. military rained on Syrian targets Thursday night.

Each Tomahawk missile, made by Raytheon Co. RTN, -0.03% likely cost $1 million, according to experts.

The U.S. used 59 of them on a Syrian air base in response to the Syrian government’s chemical-weapons attack that killed scores of civilians earlier this week.

Raytheon referred questions around costs to the U.S. Navy’s unmanned aviation and strike weapons program, which did not immediately return a request for comment.

The Navy’s 2017 budget has the future missiles at a unit cost of $1.5 million, higher than previous years, but that is probably because the Navy is winding down the program and does not plan, at least for now, on buying more Tomahawks after this year, said Todd Harrison, also a director with CSIS.

And the people who make the money off of selling them have plenty of savings to pay off media and politicians so they can keep selling them...sick world............................we need a President who knows how to say no to them for every reason excepting an attack on our soil by somebody trying to invade our soil.

I'd like to agree with you but I'm afraid there is a lot more to it. We have treaty obligations that we must fulfill. Take the Philippines for example. They are threatening to buy weapons from Russia and China if we don't fulfill our arms sales agreements. It's in our national interests in not letting Russia or China get a foothold in the Pacific. I think that was what was behind the TPP. To make Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries more friendly towards us thru trade.

I'm okay with us selling our allies arms and advanced weaponry, spare parts and the military advisers to train and support their operations. But no boots on the ground or air support. Note that I said us selling not giving.

Throughout the campaign and the early days of his presidency, President Trump garnered near lockstep support from a number of alt-right leaders and conservative media members. While there were moments of wavering — such as when Trump muddled his positions on immigration and Obamacare — they mostly remained on his side.

After Trump approved missile strikes in Syria on Thursday night, that opinion changed. In sharp contrast to a majority of Republican politicians and many media pundits, the group of alt-right figures criticized Trump after supporting him over Hillary Clinton, who they saw as the more interventionist candidate. (Clinton also supported the strikes.)
Who are the libs gonna blame now?? Imagine that?? First he sends in strikes against Russia concerns and now the so called alt right is pulling support for Trump.. Wonder where the next conspiracies will come from..

And I think it was the images of the children that died and we're suffering from the affects of the poison gas that swayed him.. Remember these images were shown around the world and many looked at the US and wanted to see what Trump might do.. Now they know..
And of course Hillary approved.. So I guess all is good.
He did what the Neocons wanted him to do, just like Wizard said Hillary would have done the same thing. One thing for sure the bombing of this Syrian AFB hurts there fight against the Rebels (Terrorist that we support, guess we all know which side we are on now) it's said that Assad and Russia were winning the war, I guess we had to stop that.......

Is Assad to blame for the chemical weapons attack in Syria? | Middle East | DW.COM | 06.04.2017

"In 2014, investigative journalist Seymour Hersh reported on opposition forces' ability to use chemical weapons. In an article for the "London Review of Books," Hersh obtained documents from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the Pentagon's own spy organization. They suggested that the Nusra Front, a Syrian offshoot of al Qaeda, had access to the sarin nerve agent. A chemical weapons attack on the Damascus suburb of Ghouta in August 2013, which was blamed on Assad, was carried out by rebels, according to Hersh's article. They wanted Washington to presume Assad had crossed Obama's "red line" and draw the US into a war."

We have no proof that Assad did it do we???? And by the way what is the threat by Syria to America, they are not a threat they have a very small army and really are not even a threat to Israel, who am sure loves what we are doing, let's but a American puppet in charge.....that well go over well for are imagine in the mid-east.......

As for chemical weapons we have used them are selfs......and we have killed are fair share of women and children..

Also why would Assad do it, every police investigation there has to be a motive and a reason why....has anyone answer this......

We’re Asking the Wrong Questions About Syria by -- Antiwar.com

"The two most obvious questions are who did this, and why?

The US government (and unfortunately most American media, acting as stenographers rather than journalists as is too often the case in matters of war and foreign policy) have settled on the regime of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad as the culprit. That claim seems very questionable, if for no other reason than that there’s no plausible “why” attached to it.

After more than six years of civil war, the Syrian government has (with Russian assistance) turned the tide. Assad is well on his way to defeating both the Islamic State and the “moderate rebels” (read: al Qaeda) backed by the US, restoring his control over the country.

A chemical attack on Khan Sheikhoun doesn’t seem to fit into that scenario. Not only does it serve no obvious military objective, but it’s precisely the kind of atrocity that American hawks will latch onto and use as an excuse to continue and escalate the US military intervention in Syria at Assad’s expense."

And as for Trump, even he has said it's a bad idea to attack Syria, what changed, but than again I always said that he was the king of "Flip'Flopping". here's proof....

Sayheykid ,,War is not pretty..Innocents die in war, Sad fact today is that the world is far from perfect.. The war in Syria is again a war of religion,Shiites against the Sunni's .. All the wars in the Middle east are about religion.. ..We should not be involved but unfortunately we are.. What Trump did was to send a message to the world that he is not the same as Obama.. He will act .. The world acknowledged and for the most part they approved of what he did.. hopefully they got the message..
On a side not the war mongering senator from Carolina,Lindsey graham wants to send 7000 troops to Syria.. Hope they laugh him out of Washington..
