Default Why Scott Walker Is An American Dictator In Waiting

Long but interesting article about this guy. I personally don't think he stands a chance in hell of winning the republican nomination. Thank God!

Dean noted that the followers of these leaders also exhibit certain traits. “They are submissive to authority but aggressive on that authority’s behalf. They are conventional and highly religious, with moderate to little education. They trust untrustworthy authorities, exhibit prejudice (particularly against homosexuals, women and followers of religions other than their own), and are mean-spirited, narrow-minded, intolerant, bullying, zealous, dogmatic, and uncritical toward chosen authority. Moreover, they are hypocritical, inconsistent and contradictory, prone to panic easily, highly self-righteous, and moralistic. They are strict disciplinarians, and are severely punitive; they demand loyalty and return it; they exhibit little self-awareness, and they, too, are usually political and economic conservatives and/or Republicans.”
In some cases, the same politician exhibits the traits both of authoritarian leaders and their followers, Dean explained. “Social scientists labeled these people ‘Double Highs,’” he said, adding that Altemeyer said this was not a contradiction. “He found that these Double Highs relate to the questions regarding submission not by considering how they see themselves submit to others, but rather how others submit to them. They simply see the world as a place where they are always in charge.”

More on what makes Scott Walker dangerous. The sounds of crippling corporate power over all employees is frightening.

Republican presidential candidate Scott Walker on Monday will call for sweeping restrictions on organized labor in the U.S., seeking to replicate nationwide his successful effort as Wisconsin's governor to curb the power of unions.

At a town hall meeting in Las Vegas, Walker will propose eliminating unions for employees of the federal government, making all workplaces right-to-work unless individual states vote otherwise, scrapping the federal agency that oversees unfair labor practices and making it more difficult for unions to organize.

Many of Walker's proposals are focused on unions for workers at all levels of government, while others would also affect private-sector unions. Labor law experts said such an effort, if successful, would substantially reduce the power of organized labor in America.

While Walker could enact some of the proposals via presidential executive order, others would require an act of Congress or changes in federal regulations. The goal, Walker said, is "to achieve fairness and opportunity for American workers."
Where is the fairness when the corporations hold all the power, the power to control every aspect of your life.
    Walker is dangerous.

One of the biggest mistakes the government ever made was allowing government employees to unionize. Like I said public unions are the reason for RTW. The large private sector unions are at the mercy of a strong stock market given they don't have the taxpayers back like public unions do. Scott Walker wants to end federal unions. He would be doing us a favor. If this happens it will end the spread of RTW. You will always have the big private sector unions in large industries like the auto industry, construction, trucking, telecom etc. Stay calm

Beanie, the town I live in has a non union workforce and the benefits they get riival McDonalds. Most only stay a few years till they get better paying jobs.. The only ones that make good money are the chief and ass't chief.. Can you say management???So IMO they like everyone else in this country have the need for a union whether or not they work in private sector or public service. Right now I am in Ireland and here unions and government, work together and it seems everyone is happy. Scott Walker is a puppet for the KOCH brothers and they are pulling his strings. What we dont need now is another group of controlling lunatics

Welcome back my extreme right-wing fiendish foe.
How in the world would eliminating federal unions get rid of right-to-work? Politics takes money and numbers and taking out any would give the opposition more and us less....opening doors to stomp us out completely. Another righty off the cuff statement backed by no facts. ...debunked.

I am calm. Scott Walker is dangerous. His campaign is dead in the water anyway, he is a non-issue for this Presidential election, and the next election too.
Only the few, filled with hatred for union members, still trumpet this person of questionable ethics, and backed by billionaires that only want ultimate control of our government. He will fade as quickly as Mr. Christie has.

there are 4 or 5 more debates coming. any one of them could emerge except the Trump or Bush but I wouldn't bet a nickle on it
here is simple analogy: NJ Democrats rule out pension reform despite $52B debt. By Mark Lagerkvist / February 26, 2014 Christie noted that 94 percent of all new spending in his proposed $34.4 billion budget would be going to pensions, retiree health benefits and debt service. But his speech did little to convince Democrats that a new round of pension talks is needed.

Thee problem with public union pensions: Pension Promises are made assuming an 8% or whatever return on investments. If they only get a return of 4% or less the promised increase is still paid. The states have to borrow the money to pay the difference. Tax payers eat it. Compare that with the pension problems YRC has. The members/retirees take the hit. Public union pensions have bankrupted cities and piled enormous debt on states

What does Scott Walker and his hatred of any union have to do with Mr. Christie and the problems he promised to fix ... and hasn't ?
In case you forgot, the New Jersey Democrats did work with Christie ... once. He lied, so why work with him again ? With Christie, it's always someone else fault. You blame Obama for everything ... I blame Christie for all of New Jersey's problems. He did say he was going to fix the system, didn't he ?

New Jersey legislator seeks federal loans to bail out state pensions | Reuters
It's all about public pensions. Scott Walker and Christie are dealing with debt from public pensions:
The country has racked up nearly $1 trillion of unfunded liabilities altogether in its state-run retirement systems, according to the latest estimate from Pew Charitable Trusts. Other projections have put the number even higher.

New Jersey's badly underfunded pension system was cast further into the spotlight last year when Governor Chris Christie, now a 2016 Republican presidential candidate, slashed the state's contribution because of a revenue shortfall.

Labor unions sued, saying the cuts violated a promise Christie himself made, in 2011 pension reforms, to ramp up to full contributions.

But Christie won the battle in the state's highest court. The decision provided breathing room for the stressed state budget, but the pension problem lingers long term.

New Jersey would have to pay $6 billion on average annually for 30 years to pay off its existing $51 billion unfunded liability, the third largest in the nation, Sweeney said.
