Default Why I voted for Barack Obama..

Watch General President Jim Hoffa talk about how this countries job are being sent to Mexico and how we must change NAFTA before more UNION jobs are lost.

He may of lost Indiana and won in North Carolina but he will WIN THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINATION!!

Good Post... You already know Obama got my vote.

I'm 36 years old and that was the first time I ever voted. I have never felt stronger about a Presidential candidate, and his issues.. It is truly a time for change...

I don't mean to p*ss any one here but I gotta be honest, I have never been a supporter of Hoffa Jr. i wasn't around when Sr. was around but from reading and gathering stories from older Teamsters, he seemed to be the last, great union leader. in my opinion, Jr. has been wrong on several occasions about numerous things BUT, he was right to support Barack. NAFTA, just like deregulation years ago, is a killer for union work. I had no problem with Hillary but the lies and the secret trade deal being brokered by her campaign manager with Columbia floored me. The nerve of this b*tch ( she doesn't derserve to be called a woman in my eyes ) to go to union towns across the country and campaign for their votes was disgusting. McCain made me hurl when i saw him shaking hands at a Ford plant in MI ! the secret service would've gave me a Rodney King type beatdown cause i would've spat in his face if he came to NPME preaching bullsh*t to me. anyhow, as I stated, Hoffa was right in endorsing Obama. he is the only candidate focusing on the issues of keeping work here and re-constructing this horrible NAFTA agreement where as Hillary tip-toes around a deal that her husband put into affect. he is also for people having the right to organize & join unions which by the way McCain has publicly said he will never sign such a bill. now i know quite well why some folks won't vote for him. it's obvious some don't like his name, some don't like that he doesn't come off as patriotic, some don't like his relationship with a former pastor, religious beliefs, and of course, the color of his skin. however, if folks took the time to educate themselves on him a little deeper than reading the morning paper, you'll see him in a little more of a positive light. Obama is the one gentleman

I couldn't agree with you more brother. I'm tired of the narrow mindedness with the American working public. I get a lot of looks from people who see my "TEAMSTERS FOR OBAMA" sign in my window. One even asked "why would you want to support him?" and I said "why not?" No one has yet to give me a valid argument on why they do not support Obama (of course they won't admit their real reasons). I educate them on the 2 million jobs lost since NAFTA begin, the skyrocketing prices of Oil and Gas killing our economy, a 5 year war in Iraq (based on false purpose), and several other problems we must fix before more people are effected. To be honest with you: I don't care what his skin color is, what has happened in his religious past, and his father being from Kenya. I like to open my eyes and think for myself and make my judgments based solely on facts not based on ignorance. I don't make my judgement based on what General President Hoffa said but by doing my own research. Too many things have destroyed the American Economy in the last 8 years. It is time for a change! Can Obama make the changes, I believe he can!!

I am not as crazy about BHO as I was Edwards, but if the EFCA is ever to see the light of day Obama has to win. If anything is done about NAFTA and some other Free Trade agreements (I finally realized Free Trade means "We traded your jobs for Free") ....

UT Even though I'm still undecided, IMO that was a very good post....I think that you have listed my doubts in the correct order of importance, with the color of his skin being last. I don't think that it will be a factor, at least not in the "blue states"

I watched his interview on FOX a couple of weeks ago & I did like the way he handled himself. But in order for him to convince some of us older voters that he is for real, then I think that he will have to continue to give that type of in depth interview with the people that will take the gloves off & ask him the hard & sometimes embarassing questions that fuel our doubts.......I really don't think that the average Joe is going to take the time "to educate themselves" on him. Its too easy to listen to both sides of the spin & believe what we want to believe.
