    Default Cigarette Tax Increase 8/01/16

Increased PA Cigarette Tax Goes Into Effect August 1st « CBS Philly

    Ridiculous.
If I was governor I'd put that tax on the insurance companies the next 25 years....the market decides? Yeah right.
Another racket ensuring that the insurance companies never lose money. They already have mandates too buy healthcare...now we're all supposed to live healthy to 100 years old and never retire.
    no thanks.
I'll be voting against Governor Wolf. Next time.

Tax not high enough.. We have at least 25 cigarette stores in the area and they all do good.. I went to the town when they decided to install a local income tax on the residents and asked why they just don't add a minimal tax on the cigarettes and I was informed the state won't allow it.. The same goes with the gas tax in New Jersey.. It will be going up and the five people that overpaid for property on the state line will soon be trying to sell..

Have them move to Utah. We have what we all affectionately call "sin" tax" on our alcohol and tobacco.

Taxes are not an instrument to control people but that is what they make it.

Once we go into a cashless society (under hillary) they will control you. If the Elites say cigarettes are bad they will make it impossible to buy.

How will cigarette tax hike affect Philly vs. rest of state?

The state increased from $1.60/ pack tax to $2.60. Philly already had an extra tax/pack. $2. So now their total tax in Philly is $4.60/pack.
    Ridiculous.

I remember when I was in the service and paid $1.10 a carton.. I quit when they were $.65 a pack because I couldn't afford it any more as I was smoking 2 to 3 packs a day,35 years ago.. Best thing I ever did..

I quit everything and replaced it with cigarettes. Tommorrow would be 31 years ago. I quit before I was legal.
Most times drunk or high people get on my nerves but sometimes I think its funny. I came across this looking for something to laugh at. I thought it hilarious.

I had a real bad habit with tobacco. I smoked Camel "studs" and dipped snuff at the same time. Copenhagen was my choice. Premium cigarettes $3.00 a pack and a can of Cope was about $4.00 when I quit. That was a few years ago.
