No...they do not. Sadly, many are just Holier-Than-Thou Christian Fanatics full of their OWN Self-Generated Importance. They FILTER EVERYTHING...and I mean EVERYTHING through their Self-Righteous Christian Ideology.

I think the Church knows full well much of what you say. They were there. And probably still are. They have allowed and encouraged parts of the cultures they've spread to become part of the religion. They did not totally go into every culture and wipe it out totally. Yes, there has been wickedness. But they are doing what the belief tells them to...go to the ends of the earth and feed the sheep.......just as Islam is doing what their religion tells them to.....just as freemasonry also does.......just as capitalism does...just as socialism and communism does.....just as the twelve step programs do.
I've read that Jesus birthday even is a birthday which was celebrated by some ancient sun god somewhere....and there are similarities in the views of Mary to other cultures goddesses.........perhaps francis is somehow incorporating todays beliefs somehow into the Church,,as that stuff may have been brought in.

The "what is good" and "what is 'bad'........about this or that, the Church or other cultures or capitalism or communism or even science and technology or anything........isn't really relevant if the main goal is to get souls to Heaven.............Some cultures have never advanced into technology and also choose to live in 'the dark ages"....without the new stuff.
We are trained to think that modern is best for us.....but depending on our perspective..maybe a lot of the knowledge we have gained is not as good for us as if we did not choose to allow it.

The whole thing about Free Masons I cannot really respond to because they are a secret society, nobody can really say what they are about. That in itself makes me not totally trust them. I do know I had family members that are now long gone that were masons. Religion of any kind was not a very big part of my family. At least not during my lifetime. There are many things I love about the Catholic church. It is why I made a choice to become a Catholic in 2000. However as I got deeper into it, I saw many man made dogmas that just did not make sense to me. And 16 years later I still had certain people at church telling me I was not a good Catholic. I went through a lot to become a Catholic. I jumped through endless hoops to finally be able to receive communion. My daughter went through a two year grueling program to get confirmed. She did get confirmed but is now very soured on the Catholic church. They are not welcoming. Even when my mom died, I felt like my church was not there for me at all, although a priest I do not know that volunteered at the hospital gave my mom last rites even though she was not Catholic. The church is a very good thing in many ways, but Pope Francis is making it much better. It saddens me to see that so many Catholics, his own people feel the way they do about him. For now I will stay with the Episcopal church where I have the Catholic faith, the Liturgy and everything I love about the church, minus the constant guilt, minus the coldness, minus strange doctrines such as no birth control. As I said, I cannot comment on the Masons but I think the church is so huge, they havennothing to worry about. After all they have been here for over 2000 years and I trust God will take care of his followers, protestant or Catholic.

Well exactly, and also exactly why I am not there anymore and I clearly stated that. But that does not mean it is not right for someone else. Obviously it is for millions of people.

You would know nothing of Jesus nor what he said, if that Church of Man did not pick what Books were to put in, or let out of the Bible which you read ....One faith...not 50,000 weak ones not knowing what they believe.

I would not have the faith I have if it were not for the Catholic Church. So much I love about it. Every church I was in felt pointless or that something was missing until I found the Catholic church.

I highly doubt these people with a Pope put anything in there telling people to leave them...

I am actually going to turn this back to the fact that some Catholics are actually trying to get rid of a wonderful Pope and it is just wrong! Kind of what happened to Jesus.

I think some things he says and does are kind of scarey
Definitely uncomfortable, IF the stories are actually true and written in the context of what he is actually saying or doing.
I liked Benedict's Encylicals on the financial crisis. Francis seems to lean hard to the liberal/ socialist side which is not normal for a Pope. I never was totally comfortable with the Church leaning in almost opposition to the unions...in writing it's never the case...but in politics they always leaned to the probusiness /competition side.
