Under Trump, Worker Protections Are Viewed With New Skepticism

It has been known for decades that exposure at even very low doses to beryllium — a strong, lightweight metal used to make computers, aircraft parts and nuclear bombs — can cause chronic beryllium disease, a disabling and potentially fatal lung ailment, in a small percentage of workers with a genetic susceptibility to it.

    Uses for Beryllium in Communications

Battery contacts and electronic connectors in cell phones and portable electronics are made with copper beryllium alloys. The material meets stringent requirements for durability, weight savings, electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance in all extremes of weather and temperature.

IBM in East Fishkill NY has buildings that have been closed for many years due to chemicals in the ground under the buildings.. Nasty chemicals are used in all this computer crap.. Beryllium is just one of hundreds..

How convenient that Faux news forgets to mention the tax incentives, paid by the citizens, along with those possible pollution issues.

A plan to bring a massive Foxconn Technology Group plant to Wisconsin could cost $1 billion to $3 billion in local, state and federal incentives over coming years — a stunning sum for a project that backers say could transform the state’s economy.
Another issue likely to figure into any project involving Foxconn will revolve around the company’s air emissions from its manufacturing operations.
The company’s interest in southeastern Wisconsin comes at a time when federal standards for ground-level ozone emissions are slated to become stricter, which could place added regulatory burdens on large manufacturers.
Trump has ordered EPA officials to delay implementation of the ozone rules. And last week the U.S. House voted to slow the regulatory timeline for compliance.

The last two sentences say it all.
“These guys are on one side; the Obama board was on the other. We’ll see a profound change in direction of labor law.”

Any bets as to how quickly Foxconn moves to automation after they are handed the Wisconsin corporate welfare money?

Its all Trumps fault.. Nothing but "LIBERAL" talking points.. First you bitch "Where are the Jobs??" and when some start showing up it is still not satisfying.. Find all the faults about the jobs.. LIBERALS are never satisfied..
And do you think this is the first job that will use hazardous materials?? .. Your P&D drivers.. Think of where you have been over the years..

Didn't Foxconn promise a plant in Harrisberg a while back? Had everyone worked up about it then nothing happened. Wasn't it to be in an old steel manufacturing building or the like?
