Default Republicans put union-busting lawyer in charge of enforcing labor law

    Great!!

WASHINGTON—By a 49-46 party-line vote—all of the ruling Republicans for and all the Democrats against—the Senate decided on November 8 to name Peter Robb as the National Labor Relations Board’s general counsel, its top enforcement job.

Robb, now a management-side labor law attorney in Vermont, drew Democratic opposition due to his opposition to workers’ rights, dating all the way back to 1981. Then as a young federal lawyer, Robb drafted the legal memo showing GOP President Ronald Reagan how to fire the nation’s Air Traffic Controllers, who were forced to strike for safety reasons.

That, and Robb’s subsequent anti-worker service, drew protests from Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich. No Republican senators spoke for Robb. The Senate Labor Committee previously approved GOP President Donald Trump’s nomination of Robb on a party-line vote.

“During his campaign, the president made a lot of big promises to workers in Ohio and across the country. He told them he’d put American workers first. But too often, the people he’s put in charge have a record of doing the opposite—and that’s certainly true of Peter Robb,” Brown said.

Most knew this would happen. We were warned of this awhile back.

For a while now I have been hoping that Trump's plan would help both the economy and the middle class workers. It appears that his plan is to relax labor regulations an give business the ability to further exploit the workers. I took this quote from ABFwife's Veterans lose big thread.

Republican supporters of the tax plan now before Congress claim that “repatriating” profits will free up money for corporations to create jobs in the US. Gebre countered indignantly: “Capital is not people! Repatriating of capital does not bring work back. Corporations in this country are already awash in money and they still are not creating jobs in this country. Instead they are looking for the cheapest and most exploitable workers around the world.”
I think that just about sums it up. The jobs aren't coming back just the corporate profits. I guess it was just wishful thinking on my part to hope that Trump and the republicans actually cared at all about labor.

I'd have to agree.....giving the corporations anything is what brought us right where we were when he was elected........the tariff idea and stance was the stance they hated because it wqas actually somebody TELLING them that they are not gonna be able to run away for cheap slaves worldwide nor threaten concessions with it........but this stuff is gonna do exactly what brought us here...the banks and corporations have been running the show for decaddes with Dems in charge or GOP.........the tariffs would begin the fix....the corporations do not need leniency.....they need to be told that this is our country and they will do as they are told here....not take advantage of us and ruin us for their own profits......and that is what they do....Don't need much research to figure that out.

Allowing them to do as they please is why we have the majority of the problems we have.
