Just a thought/suggestion
I would be willing to bet that sooner, rather than later would be a good time to get out.
Yrc is successfully turning us from a highly successful, lucrative, well respected regional company, into a national YRC wannabe.
With the closing of 6 terminals visibly on the horizon, and big chunk of Seattle's city and line work being handed over to a non union terminal, where does it end?
For those that suggest we stand up and grieve and fight whatever comes our way, I can give you a good case for that being "urinating in the wind."
Our locals can resist these actions by YRC, but they don't have any backing from the IBT. I have surmised that the IBT and YRC have already made an agreement in which the IBT will give YRC WHATEVER they want. So when the IBT cries "were saving a company and preserving jobs," I ask where do you draw the line? There has to be a defined breaking point at which the concessions become ridiculous. Are we just supposed to concede whatever right down to the very last job. We given the inch, they will now be taking the mile.
