Default USF Reddaway Teamsters In Las Vegas Approve First Contract

USF Reddaway workers, represented by Teamsters Local 631 in Las Vegas, have unanimously ratified their first contract which provides excellent benefits and a grievance procedure, among other improvements. There are 45 workers in the bargaining unit.

The drivers and dockworkers unanimously ratified the contract on March 23, 2014. Earlier, the workers joined Local 631 through a card-check neutrality agreement that had been negotiated by the Teamsters with USF Reddaway. The Las Vegas location is the 17th organized under the Western Reddaway Area Agreement. Another recent Reddaway victory was in Fontana, California.

I was just thinking the same thing earlier, knew this was happening and didn't surprise anyone, been a lot of grumbling at LVG since last year, also the TM left for OD next door as did a few managers at FON when they signed, believe one of the driving forces behind this and hopefully more was the change of ops that was initiated but for the most part has failed.

Maybe you guys can figure this out. I got curious as to whether there is a terminal here in Albuquerque. I found this old article on the internet, yet when I go to the local 492 website and click on the freight tab, there is no USF Reddaway listed for ABQ. My husband had just been hired at ABF when this article was written so we were completely new to the Teamster world.

    Updated: Jul 23, 2007

The Teamsters Union has won a tentative agreement covering newly organized USF Reddaway workers in New Mexico, California and Arizona.
The tentative agreement covers about 425 workers who recently chose to join the Teamsters through card-check at seven former USF Bestway terminals in California, Arizona and New Mexico. USF Reddaway has since merged with USF Bestway.

I wasn't back when all this went down but after The Great Recession,Takeover by YRC and Consolidation of Bestway by Reddaway there were a lot of Terminals shuttered throughout the system, explains the anger among the ranks of Regionals directed at YRC but Managment thrives on dissection among the rank and file,we are more dysfunctional with the split between Union/Non's,hope this explains your question.

USF Holland, USF Reddaway to close 27 service centers

YRC Regional Transportation, a subsidiary of YRC Worldwide, on Thursday, Feb. 7, announced the closing of 27 service centers operated by USF Reddaway and USF Holland on Feb. 22.

USF Holland will close six service centers: in Albany, Ga.; Jackson, Miss.; Lumberton, N.C.; Little Rock, Ark.; Mobile, Ala.; and Metter, Ga. USF Reddaway will close 21 service centers in Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

On a side note were once again servicing these states but Inter-Lining it to another Carrier.
