Here I thought all those wonderful politicians were elected to do a job. That job is to understand and determine if anything they vote on is in the best interests of the constituents. If they don't read what they vote on, what do they actually do ?
Just another shining moment for der beanus.

Why read ... just vote yes ...

Did you bother to read the bill? I doubt it since the republican Kline's word seems to be enough for you. Do you know that the backroom Kline-Miller amendment includes a $2 billion dollar exemption for only 1 specific corporation? That corporation had previously contributed approximately $275,000 to 5 members of the committee's campaign funds. Guess who that corporation is. Surprise surprise it's UPS. The same UPS that now doesn't have to make up the $2 billion in pension cuts to it's retirees that was agreed to when they voted to withdraw from the CSPF.

CHAIRMAN KLEIN, I URGE MY COLLEAGUES TO SUPPORT THIS BIPARTISAN MULTIEMPLOYER PENSION REFORM AGREEMENT AND ITS INCLUSION TO THE SPENDING BILL. THANK YOU
when the chairman and the CSPF director is telling congress pension cuts are necessary, that's it. There was no reason for congress to read it. Are you that naive to think Congress needed to read it before they passed or that they would have voted not to pass it?

And yes , this might not have passed, had it been put forward as a stand alone bill.
That is why they tacked it on as an amendment to the budget bill.

I should have added "meester" to the mix. That still doesn't quite reach the bottom feeders.

Pork, pork, pork for dinner bean. Do you need someone to connect the dots for you?

So you think Congress would have given a teamster union pension some consideration if they all read it? The American Federation of Teachers union, yes
The United States Postal Service union, yes. The SEIU, yes. The teamsters union pension, hell no

That is kinda the answer I got in the letter that I got from my PA senator.. Should never have been put on that bill.. The sponsors of that bill knew exactly what they were doing..
