The Church and socialism both want the poor and weak taken care of. But there's a big difference.

The Church will never forget to pass the basket.
But it's an Offering. There's a choice. You may put money in or ignore it when it comes by. There's freedom and liberty involved in the collection.

Socialisms "offering" is mandated. It comes out of your check before you even see your money.
    The government decides your offering.
    Not so in the Church.
My mortgage has gone from $500+/month to $755/month due to tax increases. Mandated socialism.
Occupational privelage taxes went from $10/month to over $50/month.....a privilege to work in Reading, PA.....mandates. punishment if not paid.
I could have began putting $10/week in the basket at Church and if I payed $5 today...or even nothing..there is no punishment.

That also goes for moral teachings.
You can pick and choose what you do with your morals....very few things end with.punishment...

Not so with socialism which will punish and mandate they're morals.

Seems the "system" we have now has been punishing and mandating their morals on us for many, many years. Not all of us though. That's the problem with the "system."

    Absolutely lifer! I agree 100%!!!

As far as the church allowing you to do what you want with your morals, are we talking about the same church here Slave? I know, Off topic. I attended the Catholic church for 16 years and I will stand by my comment that the Catholic church is socialist. I mean with their teachings. IMO Jesus was a socialist. And now attending the Episcopal church, I find them to be the exact same way on human rights and labor issues. The Catholic church may be a church, but it is huge and it is powerful and it is definitely involved in politics. That is why Pope Francis is always preaching about taking care of the poor and the inequality issues in the world right now. Because it is so bad it really has become a moral issue. Exactly why I love Bernie.

    I agree.
My opinion may be considered biased or racist by some. Opinions are like Anuses.everyone's got one.

    Why bring up religion.
Because the antiCatholic views are root problems in our society.
We have a society which has been more heavily influenced by Judaism and Freemasonry at least since the 60's......itbrought us where we are today.
Marx,Soros'father, Sanders, Bolsheviks.......all people with good intentions fort the masses. Ugly results by the ones past. Conspiracy and legitamate history sites will point out their Jewish histories.....and their desire to bring all together. Their solution results in all inclusiveness. State dictation of morals. Elimination of religion....mass murder of those who don't conform...especially Christians.
The commie and socialist progressive hippies have their roots there.
Everything they stand for except everyone working for nothing, gets taken away under socialism, communism.
For the capitalist pigs so hated also rule the commies and socialists. They don't lose a dime.

I'm sorry but I do not get the Judaism connection to the problems in our country. I just totally do not agree and yes you are right about opinions.

We can blame it on lousy politics, Republicans that have done everything in their power to further their agenda and a Democratic party that has become so weak, they are almost as bad as Republicans.

The Judaism thing has to deal with a great fear. A legitamate fear. It has to do with a race or religion dominating society. A chosen race. And many different ways of dealing with the gentiles to curb their desire to join the Church which the Jews have legitimately feared.
I believe they are the Chosen Race. I believe they are very gifted. But I also believe that the gentiles were given our own route.....I don't know that they believe that because Christ is just another Jew to them.
But I believe that there's a great fear which underlies alot of politics. Therefore things very opposed to their greatest fear...which is all gentiles or masses of them having a solidified view/path of Christianity....therefore Church beliefs are undermined in many many ways. Causing many many problems.
I believe that that same fear is manifested through Freemasonry ...also legitimately.
Francis wrote an encyclical to quit trying to convert the Jews....maybe he's given up on them? Or maybe it causes the retaliation.....

The Church doesnt force anything. Government, especially socialist does.Or communist. The Church mught deny sacrements but they dont fine and imprison.

https://thezog.wordpress.com/If any religion or race held this many positions of power...it would be reported.
It's a heavy influence on both sides of all important things. It's a little dated but it shows something which probably hasn't changed much.

The Church is anticommunist and antisocialist. It was the Sanders type hippies who opposed Vietnam. And the media covered their side very heavily. Music also railed against it. The Church was involved in it. Communism allows no religion.......is that why the hippies opposed it and media covered it?
A Communist country is a nation of slaves serving very few masters. UOTE=ABFwife;333614]Absolutely lifer! I agree 100%!!!

I don't support war...just illustrating that the socialist hippies opposed something the Church had some support of.

A note on Francis and what he is. I'm glad he's here. I think the world is long overdue for what the Jesuits are capable of doing. They have a history. And what the world may see him as doing....may not exactlly be his underlying goal.
I have no idea if the above linked quotes are true..but there's plenty of stories like them floating the web.
Interesting times indeed. One thing I'm fairly confident in is that with Francis, the Jesuit, as Pope, and a black Pope that he serves(Superior General of the Society of Jesus) and a Pope Emeritus Pope Benedict all in Rome...Catholicism will grow.
