Default Concessions for you—not for them

Should Hoffa administration officials who negotiate contract givebacks be rewarded with fat salaries?

Each year, TDU prints the $200,000 Club listing of our union’s highest paid officers. We report the facts so you can decide who’s earning the money, who’s not, and what should be done about it.

This year’s $200,000 Club covers 2016 and includes Hoffa administration officials who negotiated givebacks in some of our union’s biggest contracts.

Others in the Club were caught taking employer payoffs or embezzling union funds, including the disgraced Rome Aloise, John Coli, and Willie Smith.

    The $200,000 Club

The $200,000 Club has 48 members this year—the most ever. Three of them are on the way out of the union, after being caught in crimes against the members.

Four $200,000 Club members were voted out of IBT office in the election of November 2016, thanks to the Fred Zuckerman Teamsters United slate. Three of those four, John Coli, Ken Wood, and Brian Buhle, have retired from the union, taking giant pension payments on the way out. Tyson Johnson also retired after being defeated as Southern VP.

Six officials inflated their salaries over the maximum allowed by the IBT Constitution, which states that no official on the International Union payroll can exceed the General President’s salary.

Sadly, my local President is on the list. He has his hat in 4 rings, so I always wondered how many pensions that entitled him to receive ?
However, his presence is known throughout Philadelphia and the area. He is a strong leader and does fight for the members.

So my question might be this. If a good road man at UPS or another company could make 100K ( a few do ) then is making 200K plus a lot of money ?
If you compare the average CEO salary with the hourly paid worker at any company, the big shots make 200 to 300 times what the average employee makes. ( $75,000 versus 14 million )

    Big difference.

    Still a sticky subject.

This is why our union is dying.

It should be about the message and the fight, But to the leadership
it is about greed and themselves, them and them only.

We are only here paying dues to fund their ponzi scheme and nothing else,

I don't think this is why the unions are dying.
However, the greed aspect is everywhere in today's world.
From the church to the capitol.
Without dues, the unions would cease to exist.

Is a once a month payment equal to 2.5 times your hourly wage ( give or take ) excessive ?
Not considering the healthcare and pension benefits we receive. ( IMO )

Take a look at what happened at XPO. What did Nuno say was the problem?

I understand the union needs the dues to operate,..

We don't need the greedy scumbag leadership that finds way after way to pilfer money from those
    dues to their own pockets,....

In my opinion no office of the union should make more than 50 percent of a locals highest earner,...

Make sure the leadership is their because they believe in organized labor, Not because
they see a way to profit for themselves only.
