Who was President as we took concessions. 20,000 YRC Teamsters. Which led to concessions at ABF and throughout the industry?
And it was done more than once under Obama. Hell on earth for all of us.
    Who did Trumps administration help?
    YRC might have died.
Or come back for more concessions.
But we were spared that under Trump.

I always say you have a right to your opinion and I am done for the most part arguing politics on this site or anywhere else. But lets not forget the absolute mess Obama inherited and to blame contract concessions on Obama is ridiculous IMO.

You asked what Trump did for unions.
That move of helping YRC with Covid money prevented the same concession scenario spreading throughout the whole industry from happening all over again.

Let's lay some blame where it belongs. Who's administration created the mess of our economy putting us into the great recession? Bush. Who was at the helm of the YRC companies and responsible for the financial woes? Bill Zollars. You remember him? He went on a spending spree purchasing trucking companies creating enormous debt leaving the YRC companies with very little operating capital. Who agreed to take the concessions? By golly, that would be us Slave. Simply put? Poor management is to blame as your posts indicated on more than one occasion. Did you forget all the complaints of their mismanagement?

Again, The YRC companies had dug a hole so deep all they can do is kick the can down the road. Meanwhile, other companies were reporting positives.

National security is the only reason YRC received that Socialist handout Slave. YRC hauls the lions share of freight for our military. As much as it pains me to say this, the thanks should go to those from YRC that negotiated the contracts solidifying our position as a primary carrier for our military supply chain. Crowley Logistics is a big part of that Slave.

Trump saved us from another round of concessions which saved the whole industry from going thru that again.
            And the rest doesn't matter.
            It is what it is.

            Obama never did.
Why didn't he help us if YRC were so important to our military?
Mismanaged or not...our own fault or not.
Trump helped without even saying much about it.
If he was a true "conservative" Bush era GOP.....and a total " let the market decide" GOP. And a total antiunion GOP....he would have left us die as a company from Covid.
But he is not that. Tariffs prove that...and this move with a company whose employees are freight Teamsters prove that.
He nationalized part of us. 30%....temporary I would think but..it relieves alot of stress on us.
And guys who loved nationalizing..and want healthcare nationalized...all of the sudden hate the concept.
Hatred and misunderstanding of Trump rules.

Speculation at best Slave. The rest does matter as YRC would have never been a candidate for Trump's socialist handout had they been able to right that sinking ship.

YRC was not the primary carrier then Slave. Menlo (Conway/XPO) had that duty.

Again, YRC's current current position in the military supply chain. National security Slave. YRC employingTeamsters are a byproduct of what had to be done in Trump's Covid failure economy.

Socialism is a good thing when it directly relates to having employment, eh Slave? That "free stuff" supplied by tax dollars.
Who hates the concept? No one around here for sure. I get quite a chuckle at all the proud conservatives that now drive for YRC socialist freight.

                      https://www.unz.com/jderbyshire/the-...s-in-politics/

"Politics doesn’t actually pay that well, salary-wise. A conscientious politician, in the older Anglo-Saxon tradition of public service, will live decently well, but he won’t get stinking rich. I gave a couple of examples in my book We Are Doomed:

When Harry Truman left office in 1953, he had no income but his army pension of $112.56 a month. He had to take out a bank loan while negotiating a deal to write his memoirs. That was the way of things all over the Anglosphere. It was part of the tradition of modest Anglo-Saxon government. When Bob Menzies, Australia’s longest-serving Prime Minister, left office in 1966 after 18 years in power, having given up a lucrative legal career for politics, he could not afford to buy a house in Melbourne.

Well, that was then, when notions of gentlemanly restraint and duty were still current. Ours is a cruder, coarser, more cynical age.

Gentlemanly restraint nowadays would be hooted down as “toxic masculinity.” A President who left office with nothing but an army pension to fall back on—and who, like Truman, would not accept offers of extravagant speaking fees or company directorships because it would demean the Presidency—would nowadays be regarded as a sucker."

What percentage of those companies were union companies?
And what percentage of trucking jobs lost were union jobs?

Here is a sampling of the job losses in another thread. I guess the biggest percentage I see is 100% of these drivers became unemployed. That equates to 100% that if they weren't already Union, they now have a 0% opportunity to organize and become Union. 100% of them and counting.

If they want work, the work is out here. We have had a driver shortage here for years before Trump. They just added a sign on bonus deal and a YRC truck driver training sheet was hung by somebody in our break room.
