When we would walk at the 8AM Red Star shape the steward would usually find work for us at other 560 jobs. I worked 1 day at L J Kennedy. They had me bobtail to Wakefern in Elizabeth and pull a pallet grocery load to the Fort Lee Shoprite. The only problem was it was a hand unload and piece count onto the conveyor belt rollers. To add insult it turned out Kennedy paid $1 an hour below scale. My shop steward said he didn't know and after that nobody wanted to go to Kennedy.
