I haven't heard if they went out on strike. Supposed to be today, the 19th.

CN Rail Threatened by Disruption With Teamsters Poised to Strike
Canadian National Railway Co. faces disruption as more than 3,000 workers at the country’s largest railroad threaten to strike just after midnight over safety issues and health benefits.

A walkout would potentially crimp shipments of oil, potash, grains and consumer goods even if managers trained to operate trains would blunt the impact at Canadian National. Teamsters Canada Rail Conference said a strike would begin Nov. 19 if a deal can’t be reached on working conditions and prescription drug benefits.
“Historically, rail strikes have lasted a few days, and the Canadian government has been quick to step in and implement back-to-work legislation given the significant threat to the economy,” Landry said in the note.

Still, the government may have less leverage to push for a resolution over the next couple of weeks because parliament isn’t scheduled to convene until Dec. 5. That could delay the adoption of back-to-work legislation until then.

3,200 Union Workers With Canadian National Railway Go On Strike
Canadian National Railway pleaded for a neutral arbitrator Nov. 21 to resolve a strike by thousands of its conductors, yard workers and other employees who walked off the job Nov. 19, in the first strike against the Class 1 railroad in a decade.
“We have proposed to present our arguments to a neutral arbitrator to end this dispute, and we hope the union will be willing to do the same. Through binding arbitration, a neutral arbitrator would hear our positions and make a decision,” J.J. Ruest, CEO of the Montreal-based railroad, said in a statement Nov. 21.
The workers are represented by the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference, which issued a 72-hour strike action notice Nov. 16 to the railroad after the talks, taking place in Montreal, became deadlocked.
The union posted on its website that safety issues are at the forefront of the dispute: “Some of the outstanding issues include safety, fatigue, time off provisions and lifetime caps on benefits. While seeking these concessions, Canadian National posted 3.8 billion in revenue for the third quarter of 2019.” (The railroad reports results in Canadian dollars.)

      Strike has been settled.

Strike Ends as CN Rail, Union Reach Tentative Deal
Canadian National Railway and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference announced Nov. 26 the sides reached a tentative agreement to end the strike by 3,200 CN Rail conductors and yard crews.
Workers are scheduled to begin returning to work at 6 a.m. on Nov. 27. They walked off the job Nov. 19 over a dispute concerning working conditions and benefits. Details of the tentative deal have not been made public. But it is expected the ratification process via secret ballot could take as long as eight weeks to complete. This was the first walkout in a decade at the largest railroad in Canada.
The rail workers have been without a contract since July, when the previous agreement expired.

I am placing this here because one of the reasons for the strike was over safety concerns.
        RIP Brother.

Canadian Pacific locomotive engineer killed in railyard accident
A Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd locomotive engineer was killed on Monday night in a railyard accident in the province of British Columbia, the union Teamsters Canada said on Tuesday.
The 56-year-old father with 32 years of service was the 10th member of the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) to die on the job in 24 months, the union said in a statement.
Rail safety and fatigue were key issues during a recent strike at Canada's largest railroad, Canadian National Railway Co , which saw about 3,200 conductors and yard workers hit picket lines to demand improved working conditions and rest breaks. The strike ended last week.
Transportation Safety Board (TSB) spokesman Alex Fournier said on Tuesday the agency was probing the death but had not yet decided whether to deploy investigators. It was the fifth railway worker death this year, Fournier said.
