Dozens out of service after troopers spring a series of surprise inspections on truckers
This week, troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) have been conducting surprise commercial vehicle inspections to try to nab truckers who avoid weigh stations.

On Tuesday, July 28, troopers with NSPís Carrier Enforcement Divisionís Metropolitan Aggressive and Prevention Selective (MAPS) Team conducted surprise inspections in the York, Nebraska, area. On the 65 CMVs that were inspected, troopers found 196 safety violations and placed 33 vehicles or trailers out of service. Troopers also placed five drivers out of service for various violations during the York inspections.

On Wednesday, July 29, the MAPS Team conducted another series of surprise inspections in Lincoln. On the 32 CMVs inspected, troopers found 113 safety violations and placed 21 vehicles out of service. Two drivers were also placed out of service for various violations during the Lincoln inspections.
