Default Hoffa Corruption Investigation Heats Up

Did Hoffa and other top Teamster officials rig the bidding on contracts with Teamster benefit funds and take improper gifts and payoffs? Corruption investigators are in federal court and asking for subpoena power to find out the answer.

The corruption and racketeering probe dates back to 2016, but it may be picking up steam. For the first time, corruption investigators are in court asking to subpoena bank records, including payment records to Hoffa and Ken Hall.

Attorneys for the Independent Investigation Officers filed an application in federal court on April 30 to subpoena payment records from banks, insurance brokers and healthcare providers to Hoffa, Hall, W.C. Smith, Rome Aloise, David Laughton, Kevin Moore, Steve Mack, John Murphy, Bill Hamilton, John Coli, Jack Cipriani, Geoffrey Hoffa, Richard Leebove, Greg Tarpinian, and others.

The Independent Investigations Officer is investigating whether luxury outings by these Hoffa administration officials and consultants were a gift from Charles Bertucio, an investment firm owner and insurance broker who was paid by health insurance corporations to land business with Teamster benefit funds.

Default Re: Hoffa Corruption Investigation Heats Up

So apparently there are several different investigations going on over supposed teamster corruption. Going to start putting them all in this thread, unless I can find something previously posted about this which so far I have not been able to.

Feds Eye Teamster Payments To Illinois Legislator
CHICAGO, IL—As part of its ongoing criminal investigation into Teamsters Joint Council 25, federal investigators have reportedly subpoenaed records regarding Illinois legislator Thomas Cullerton [D-Villa Park]

Cullerton, who is now chairman of the Senate Labor Committee and was first elected to the Illinois Senate in 2012, received income from Joint Council 25 as an “organizer” from 2013 through 2015.

The subpoena, issued in early February with the Illinois Senate, sought Cullerton’s personnel file as well as records regarding his legislative attendance; reimbursements for travel, lodging, meals, cell phone and vehicle allowances; and “all emails to and from” the senator between Feb. 1, 2013, and March 31, 2016, according to WBEZ.org.

Cullerton, according to his campaign website, is a former route salesman for Hostess Brands and a “proud union man.”
