I tried to copy it an post it in the YRCW forum, guess I slipped on the ctrl+C cause it was gone when I went to post it, bummer cause I spent damn near an hour on that post and didn't have the time to re-write it.

Well the big boys are in Chicago this week. Sweeney, Johnson and Flynn where at YRC barns today telling the members that they will be re-voting on their concession package and it is in their best interest to accept it or YRC will be out of business by the end of the month.

Several members had some very choice words for them, that I will not repeat here.

Looks like each barn will be voting again sometime this week, all I can say since it does not directly impact me personally is, I wish you Brothers and Sisters luck and GIVE EM HELL!

If they (Sweeney, Johnson and Flynn) are so sold on this how come none of them have taken a 15% wage cut and donated that money to YRC or even the members that are taking these cuts? Real easy to tell people with bills to take a cut when you are not making less in your paycheck over it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If that is true... "YRC goes out of business this month" because they did not vote yes this time, I would rather see YRC have a COO and pull every thing out of Chicago that they can, and lay every one off.

If that is true "YRC goes out of business this month" because they did not vote yes this time. I think the Teamsters that are involved in Chicago ought to look at the big picture. They would be directly hurting thousands of Teamsters not to mention all of the retirees. They need to get the big picture. It is definitely about much more than a them. Hundreds of thousands of Teamsters and retirees can have their life drastically changed because of the Chicago land Teamsters.

Teamster, Chicago along with other locals have voted down these concessions. 710 held 2 elections, the 2nd vote being more over whelming than the 1st. 705 held 1 election and voted no, how many times will a vote be held?

Are we led to believe that 5% of about 3,000 members will force YRC out of business? I hate to say it but the writing is on the wall, YRC has been mismanaged in to the position that they are in by themselves. I feel real bad for my YRC freight brothers, and like every1 else we will all have to live with the outcome one way or the other.

I do understand what you are saying. I just think that they ought to have voted yes, since about 35,000 to 40,000 of their Teamster Brothers took the cut even though we did not like it.

Teamster,
There's a fairly transparent agenda by a few here who want to see YRC fail thinking that it might get their candidate elected next time. Oh, they'd never admit it because they parade around like they're all full of solidarity and brotherhood but all their group wants is power at any cost. How pathetic.

Seems to me like it's their vote, and they ought to be able to vote anyway they want to! Otherwise why hold a vote?!

STL I don't care who wins the next union election, and I work for YRC, I think the democratic process is important, and if you put a decision in the members hands you have a responsibility defend the outcome, otherwise what is your function as representation?

You're right, they have a right to there vote. I trust they will step up to the plate and make the right decision. All 30,000 of their Brothers are depending on it. Otherwise I'll be seeing you at Con Way,where they have NO Voice.

I do not know of any candidate running yet and there is no agenda. The members of 705 and 710 voted down the concession package a total of 3 times and now they are being forced to vote again. If they vote it down again will another vote happen? Will we continue to vote until Hoffa gets the results he wants?

By the way it does not matter who runs against Hoffa, they will be a shoe in to win!

I actually came back home to reply to this because it bothered the piss out of me. What agenda are you speaking of?

How can you even try to judge me by less than 20 posts? I have been a Teamster for 15 years. I am a Volunteer Organizer and have spent alot of time helping my local organize, only to watch the Joint Council reward these members to other locals that are to lazy to do the organizing. Only to have these same members refuse to join another local, costing the Teamsters members.

I have walked strike lines with brothers and sisters from my local and many other locals across this state. I attend every monthly meeting and even bring my 7 year old son several time a year so I can spend some time with him.

I watched Hoffa allow UPS to buy out of the Central States pension plan directly impacting anyone that is not a UPS retiree. I watched him settle a contract with UPS a year early in order to do this. I watched how Hoffa has allowed Ups language to discipline by using technology all across the country, except in Chicago!

I watched Hoffa promise everyone of us that no one will make more than $250,000 a year as a union rep, only to make a hell of a lot more.

These are just a few problems that I have with Hoffa and the next time I take a week of vacation I will spend it here updating my many other reasons.

But now Hoffa decides the best move is to retaliate against Chicago YRC members and strip their separate contracts? And now you come here with threats?

Maybe Hoffa should have come here and begged for these concessions before he pissed of over 3,000 members. Do you really think that the pissed of members here will now vote yes after what he has done? Only a fool would be that stupid!

Why is it that NO ONE under Hoffa watch has taken a pay cut during these times? Why not wave the union dues for these members for the next year and a half if this 15% cut will really work, help the members out a little.

Hoffa has mismanaged the Teamsters in to the weakest union around, but people come here with an agenda! Hell ya to vote Hoffa out! But YRC closing does not benefit anyone, YRC is the largest freight carrier we have and I wish it the best. Hoffa is out with YRC in business or with the doors closed.
