Default Old News: Patrick J. Buchanan and Hoffa Jr.

As Ive been looking into things on this internet, I came across some stories that Pat Buchanan was going ot use Our current president, Hoffa Jr., either in his cabinet and it was even speculated that he was going to use him as a possable Vice- Pres. back in 2000 when he was considereing running, and he did, on the reform party ticket. I'm interested in any comments or if anybody knows anythinng as to what went on there. Personally, back then I liked Pat. I had read his book "Death Of The West" and he seemed to be right on the money on alot of things. How did Hoffa and he come together? For Pat leans pretty hard to the right..I kind of think a pro-labor conservative is a good mix.
Because he'd probably favor gun laws which alot of working guys favor. And he's a catholic so he probably favored pro-marriage and pro-life policies, which I think alot of union guys would favor. And he was pro- military for defense, not policing the world, which I thought was cool. And he wass very wary of the illegals that were here even before 911. And he was pro-American jobs....Now I haven't followed him too much lately, but back then I thought he was pretty good even though I wasn't a teamster at the time. And recently I found that he was involved with Hoffa back then, which makes it even better. Any thoughts on Pat past or present? Does he still favor unions and american jobs or don't union guys trust him?

I liked a lot of what Pat Buchanan had to say, particularly his stand on illegal immigration and shipping jobs overseas. I didn't think he had much chance to
win the presidency, due in large part to the fact that he comes across as an
angry , sour , old man, and turns people off before they even listen to him.

On a broader note, I think it is a shame that in today's superficial society, many intellegent, thinking, people are dismissed as irrellevant because they dont have that 'made-for-tv' presence.
