Time for a progressive change. Facing the facts, as a former freight teamster, I'm sickened by the current climate, and shaking my head that now is the time to organize the non's, but where is International? Also, more distrurbing, there are only 4 unions left in "Change to Win" from it's original 7. Could someone explain why? That is going backwards, with zero steps forward.

Fred Gegare has been a Vice President At Large since 1998. He joined the Teamsters Union in 1972 and served as a steward for five years before being elected President of Local 75 in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1977. Eight years later, Gegare was elected Secretary-Treasurer and Principal Officer of the local. He took the helm of the National Dairy Conference in 1989and then the Food Processing Division in 2002.

Thousands of everyday Teamsters from across the nation are signing petitions in support of Fred Gegare's campaign to be the next General President. Regardless of country, state, industry or employer, Teamster members have had enough of James Phillip Hoffa's out-of-touch leadership and smoke-and-mirror results. Whether the talk is about jobs, wages or pensions, members are asking themselves how a decade of James Phillip Hoffa's leadership has affected them and their families.
