But as with everything, there's more to the story. Was every decision Joe made right? Absolutely not. Did he have the members' and the local's interests at heart? I do believe so. He came up through the ranks as John Morris' right-hand man, and that's what in the end burned him with regard to Hoffa. Yeoman was next up to be PA Conf. Pres, and an Int'l VP... Hoffa didn't want that.

That and the fact that some of the "greenhead" members down here with the salt air blowing through their heads didn't like the hard-nosed, Philadelphia-based union tactics Joe brought down here with him. It disrupted their gravy train. So they were against him from day one, and when Hoffa removed him, we got left with what we got left with.

Your honesty is appreciated. So they took it over 3 times in 20 years..Atlantic City.
All I do is lose down there since they made it no smoking...I don't drive that far anymore for it..even though I have quit smoking now.

    "Where's your crown, King Nothing?"

And, finally the union hall has been sold for the amount that Joe was in talks with the city, (there were questions about the integrity of the sale price) and has since been relocated from Pleasantville, just outside Atlantic City, to about 12 miles farther west to Egg Harbor City, NJ.

Yeah the politicians in the city and the state, as well as the casinos, the Convention and Visitors Authority.... Have been dropping the ball for years. It's a good old boy network down here and if you're not in it, or don't have a particular last name, you get no recognition.

It was welcome news that Governor Christie, who I was NOT a fan of previously, came down here and put foot-to-*** on a grand scale, as far as Atlantic City as a tourist destination goes. No one is working around here. The county's unemployment rate is the highest in the state. Now we just have to let the pol's bicker back and forth and get something going. Should I hold my breath?

These 4 casino's all within 60 miles or so of this area didn't help you, that's for sure. And now table games too. I wouldn't hold my breath.

I just read Fred Gegare's campain letter and I like what it said. Fred sounds like a lot of us who are fed up with the "BS" at the international level. The carhaulers backed Tom Leedham with an overwhelming majority in the last election and I'm sure we will do the same with Fred. So, now that Keegel is off the Hoffa slate will he join Fred's or will he run for general president with his own slate?

Three slates would benefit Hoffa I believe.

I think 3 slates would either benefit Hoffa or Leedham. I thought Keegel was retiring?

That's what I thought. But who knows. I see Fred has not posted Frank on his site yet. If he is smart he will not.

Personally, I hope that Tom is in our corner, (that is), with Fred, as an advisor. I have a lot of respect for Mr. Keegel. He is also a Teamster's Teamster. Birds of a feather tend to flock together, and they both have BALLS.
With all that is going on, Keegel should step out of the shadows and finally let all that he knows be known..
