Sandy Pope: "My Facebook page has exploded with comments. People are enraged because he’s shown no backbone in fighting the companies, and now he’s talking tough. And even politically, all he does is write big checks and these politicians abandon us anyway. There’s no organization nationally to hold these politicians accountable."

"He’s bowed out of every debate, now when things are so critical."

If the old man ever came back from the grave, the first one he would shoot would be JUNIOR... They might call Obama the welfare president but Hoffa JR certainly could be called the "Giveback" president..

It is worthy to note that the mostly pro-Hoffa http://www.teamster.net/ has been down for several weeks..

"Hoffa and the Justice Department, says Gegare, have abused a decades-old consent decree, “which was once used to remove mobsters two decades ago, [but] is now being used to target [Hoffa’s] critics” through a “rogue investigative unit set up by the decree.”

The result, according to Gegare, is a dwindling treasury and deficit spending from the union that is leaving the Teamsters in the red. In part, the financial difficulties have stemmed from an unprecedented spending spree, putting the union in debt and threatening the negotiating power of the union.

“Instead of buying pretty dresses and designer shoes,” says Gegare, “[Hoffa] put a stable of personal assistants and high-priced consultants on the Teamster payroll. Their jobs are to do little else than satisfy the every whim of James Phillip [Hoffa] and the rest of the Hoffa family.”

If Hoffa ``tries to take me out, that will prove one thing: Hoffa didn't run for office to unify the union and benefit the workers.''

There was a time when the Teamsters Union was a standard by which all workingmen measured their employment; a success story. We were a beacon for the working class family.

Who will join, Mr. Hoffa, when no one is proud of what we have become?

Pick out any other true statements in this? What is true I took the liberty of making bold.

"Thousands Cheer Inauguration of Hoffa and the General Executive Board
Six thousand rank-and-file Teamsters from around the nation converged on Washington recently to celebrate the inauguration of Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa and the General Executive Board.
"Today is the beginning of a new era for the Teamsters. This inauguration should serve as a wake-up callto management - the Teamsters are back. We're united, we're strong and we're going to fight hard for the working people of this country," President Hoffa said.
Hoffa was sworn-in by his sister, Judge Barbara Ann Crancer, an Associate Circuit Judge in Missouri. Hoffa and Crancer are the only children of heralded Teamsters General President James R. Hoffa.

General President Hoffa has outlined four priorities for the Teamsters. "First, we must continue to heal the deep divisions within our great union. Second, we are going to establish and maintain fiscal viability within the Teamsters. Third, we will establish new procedures to ensure the Teamsters remain free of corruption. And, finally, we are going to focus on organizing and the growth of the Teamsters," Hoffa said.

In his speech to members, General President Hoffa offered his vision for the future. "Let us here proclaim, on this sacred day, that the long nightmare has ended. That six years of division and distrust and dishonesty have ended. That our vision of the future has been realized. And, that this house of labor is no longer divided against itself but united to
    face the future."

After only one year in office..

"One of James Hoffa's first initiatives after assuming the office of Teamsters General President was-no giggling please-to announce that he was launching a "self-policing" anti-corruption effort called Project RISE (Respect, Integrity, Strength, Ethics). A few months later, to lend his effort sorely needed anti-corruption credentials, Junior Hoffa hired former U.S. prosecutor Ed Steir and ex-FBI official James Kossler to front for Project RISE as "advisors.'

Project RISE may be the most laughable of Hoffa's pretensions, but it is not just as a corruption fighter that Junior has proved to be a high-octane gas-bag. Hoffa stormed the Teamster Marble Palace, promising to restore the power and build Teamster unity. In every case, his rhetoric has astonishingly outpaced his record.

    Restore Whose Power?

"What a strong union needs is a strong leader and a big bank account," Hoffa was fond of saying on the campaign stump. What about member mobilization and rank-and-file democracy?"
