No crazy, I don't watch Fox for the same reason I don't watch other TV news medias. (divide and conquer) The message is 'hate' with talking points, and no real solutions.

Having gone through that At NewPenn I do know what that means.. "NO" should have meant "go back to the table" but these guys caved.
Well, it now has become an opinion poll, and if the union leaders want your opinion they will tell it to you with a "Get your vote right or else." (from what I have been reading in other members posts)

Does that sound like a Teamster Democracy or Oligarchy to you?

Why would the members not care?

It is because of Fox News.

    Really???
Well noodles, the rank and file can send that steaming pile of a proposal back to the table until the cows come home or they can fold their hand and ratify. The majority didn't have the stones to say "No" and here we are. The membership at some point needs to take responsibility for where they are at today. I wouldn't discount the power the media has. I see it everyday in this area. Coupled with the power the LDS church has and is it any wonder our vote tally was in favor of a substandard agreement? The membership here voted "YES" to the company proposal before the IBT negotiated! The truly sad part of all is listening to some members beat their chests and then either concede or not bother to vote at all. Would that be called apathy or just plain pathetic?

The lack of direction, leadership by the IBT was I believe a major factor in deciding the vote, remember they suggested that we neither accept or reject the "Final Best Offer", since we were standing at the cliff as the artfully mastered tale of lies spun by Harry Wilson suggested what was the rank and file to believe,we had to look at our individual circumstances, decide if "They" were pulling one over on us or not,it came so quickly most didnt have time to build a fund to get by,hats off to them, they pulled off an amazing con and got away with it,now what we need to do as members is throw out the "Bum's" that stood by while we got screwed...

So true capmac48. The opportunity to send the current officers packing came and went without much fuss. Look again at the dismal number of votes cast. Pathetic to say the least.

The LDS Church? Oh, you mean the Mormon Masons? Yeah, they are funny bunch of squirrels, aren't they? So how is blaming other members a solution? How does that practice help make for a stronger union? If that philosophy doesn't help, then why use it?

I have an idea why they voted they way they did, buuuuuuuut I'm not going to go into the specifics. Now if you want to make friends with your brothers and sisters from the LDS church, talk about subjects surrounding astronomy or geometry, they like that kind of stuff. Use some reverse psychology Mr. Lifer, instead of using raw emotions of anger.

Why do you insist on renaming pertinent facts "blame?" The fact is, the rank and file spoke. Their resounding voice was "yes to concessions." Educating the sheeple that believe they must accept what is offered is only part of the solution. Reducing the coddling is another. Taking responsibility for ones choice rather than denial is a step in the right direction. The political flavor in this area leans heavily to the right and those in power make a tremendous efffort to ensure their flock votes accordingly.

Well, then I guess your alternative is.........

"Ask Not, For What Your COMPANY Could Do For You, Ask What You Could Do For Your COMPANY!"

So are you suggesting that all freight Teamster's are "company men" for lack of a better term? If so, I completely disagree with that analogy.
