So do you support Hoffa's decision of taking the members rights away from voting, or do you not support it?

I notice you keep trying to divert the attention away from Hoffa.

ive spoken for myself, what dont you get? i dont think hoffa taking away voting rights from people that DONT care would change things much. if i saw more teamsters at meetings, at picket lines, helping out, participating in ANY way, i would agree. your taking away voting rights from people who will take whatever their boss threatens them with, and dont care about being teamsters.

i said that in my first post, i dont like it.

i also dont think it will make a bit of difference, as i dont view hoffa as a failure anymore. workers are failing themselves, by voting against unions, by not knowing their contract, by not pushing back against management.

Well, think about the people who do vote?

Do they deserve to have their voting rights taken away?

    It is not selective enforcement.

It means you lose your voting rights too.

    Is that what you want?

no, but i dont think the voting rights will matter as much as people say they will.

The unpopularity of unions in general owes a great debt of gratitude to the media and the ignorant sheeple that feed from their trough. Hoffa lite hasn't done us any favors either.

I'm not personally willing to take that chance, cronyism is alive and well in the IBT,many possibly deserving candidates could fall short of the required delegates under the proposed new/old voting process, normally I tell folks that complain without ever voting is until you stand up for something and make a difference keep your mouth shut, you have nothing to complain about.

No real idea, but several have been put into trusteeship in the VERY recent past. Mine went against Hoffa (we went with Gegare) in 2011 and got put into trusteeship the next year. Local 584 is supposedly being considered for it as it looks like reform candidates (that is, not Hofficers) would win. Locals 1150 and 710 are being trusteed, with their officers being caught in illegal financial activities. I'm sure there's others, some who deserve it and some who don't.

In my local, the president/principal officer wasn't fiddling around too much but he was doing wrong. He rated what he got. But I've seen stories of other locals doing worse and they got no action taken against them, and they were Hoffa supporters. No link is established, but why they're still running themselves can easily be conjectured.
