SEIU's Latest Disgrace -- Violent Attack on Michigan Meeting of Union Members and RNs
" In its latest deplorable action, the Service Employees International Union bused in hundreds of its purple clad staff to break up a conference of union members and activists Saturday night in Dearborn, Mich."
" As Labor Notes themselves noted in a press release: A recently retired member of United Auto Workers Local 235, Dianne Feeley, suffered a head wound after being knocked to the ground by SEIU International staff and local members. Other conference-goers--members of the Teamsters, UAW, UNITE HERE, International Longshoremen's Association, and SEIU itself--were punched, kicked, shoved, and pushed to the floor.
Hoffa and Trumka made headlines doing good things. This guy Stern must be stupid. He hurts rather than builds organised labor with nonsense of attacking other union members with physical violence...maybe he's a fed plant planted to hurt the union cause.
"Ironically enough, union democracy and empowering workers was one of the themes of the conference, sponsored by the magazine Labor Notes, that SEIU and its President Andrew Stern attempted to close down. "

I must apologise . This was thrown in my face today whilest debating an anti-union guy. I saw the date at the top of the link and thought it was current. But the date at the top of the actual story says April 2008. Sorry for it appearing to be current. But it does show what the anti-unions will throw at ya. One of them gave me this link. Speaking of divisiveness in the country..And it is a shame.

SEIU Local 880, based in Chicago, is one of the largest SEIU union locals. It was founded and has been long controlled by ACORN and Wade Rathke. This recently uncovered video shows presidential candidate Barack Obama discussing his long and close ties to SEIU. This is not your typical political pandering. This is someone who feels at home, talking to close friends and family

When the White House released its first batch of visitor logs on Oct. 30, 2009, as part of a pledge to bring more transparency to the White House, Stern's name did indeed appear 22 times, more than anyone else listed, including Clinton, who was listed three times.

Re: SEIU Attacks other unions?
I personally don't want to get into a total degrading of another union but I don't like this one incident. I wish Hoffa was the visitor to the white house the 22 times mentioned. Good for them. Union is union and that is good. But attacking and ruining the cause was the intent of the post. And how to fix the problem and how to respond to attacks pointing to episodes like this when debating nons on the issue. They love to use violence against us. And the guy is in heaven using a story where other unions attack other unions with violence when debating me. But like I said the story is not recent. It is 1and a 1/2 years old.
