The board's Democratic majority voted 2-1 in favor of a revised proposal that could give organized labor a boost in organizing new members at companies that have long opposed unions.

Business groups have strongly opposed the new rules, saying they amount to ambush elections that don't give company managers enough time to talk to employees. Unions claim the rules help them level the playing field with companies that abuse the legal process to stave off union elections.

The vote came after the board's lone Republican member, Brian Hayes, didn't make good on threats to resign, a move that would have rendered the agency powerless to act.

Hayes said he decided not to quit, even though he strongly opposes the rules and believes Democratic members are not giving him enough time to consider them.

It is a war on deficits, a war on the size of government..not a war on workers. Public workers are caught in the middle. When the dumbo-crats can figure a way to pay for the jobs-bill without adding to the deficit the republicans will listen. When the dumbo-crats can figure out a way to have a temporary tax cut on the middle-class followed by a permanent tax increase without making the job creators pay for it the republicans will listen.

In the mean time it's all about making the republicans

    look like the bad guys.

Wake up beanie. It is an attack on the all workers. First public now private. I posted a little information regarding our contracts with the pipeline contractors the other day. Not a peep from the ostriches toting the GOP banners.

To update you on this matter....There has been an extension and the strike has been averted at least until then. You think there is no war on workers? We are talking about gas companies that have made record profits. They do not want to pay pension. They do not want to pay benefits. They want year to year contracts. They want to beat us down a little further. Do I need to connect the dots?

Wow! That's a serious clip there. I think when the lady says "We are part of a global movement, and we have had enough!" She means it. They've had it their way too long....It ain't good.
