Question AK teamster relocating to OTR lower 48

Ive currently been member of local 959 since 98.
All my work last 14 yrs has been in construction field ~ dump truck w/wo pup, mixer truck, side dump & belly dump w/wo doubles, vac truck, water truck, fuel truck, Ueclid B-70's, maxi hauls semi end dumps w/doubles, etc.
Before moving to AK I was school bus driver for 1yr & teamster in so Cal. Did one yr OTR car hauling & household with an O/O.
Im no longer enjoying the COLD weather and the long winters. Love the good money when the getns good, but its to speradic and seasonal.
Where in the 11 western states would be good option to relocate, for OTR Teamster work?
What companies are Teamster & OTR for the West & south west areas?
Im use to being gone long amounts of time 2-3 months. So I dont need to be home monthly, just a week every 2-3 months.
    Thanks.

    Thank you ABFWife!!!
Im a 2nd generation Teamster. would love to continue that as an OTR driver. Ive searched truckersreport.com and few others but no one wants to mention "Union" and when I ask someone who mentions they are "union" they shut up and wont tell me anything.
Rather than asking every union local in every state, I hope to find out what companies are Teamster OTR and how can I get on.
    Thanks again

After quite a bit of thought, I can't really come up with an OTR Teamster company.
I'm not sure you'll find one that will be out that long....Teamsterwise that is.
Down here in the lower 48, common carrier freight has been hit hard as far as working conditions goes.
I would suggest that if you want to stay in trucking, the grocery warehouses are doing good. I've have kept notes on the grocery contracts for a few years, and they've at least held their ground, or made some advances.
Everybody's gotta eat, and grocery driving is on my wish list.
I can't suggest a good place to live, but stay away from Arizona, it's really at the bottom of the barrel here.
Bottom line- Stay away from common carrier freight, YRC has ruined the Teamsters core industry, and it feels like some union leaders have "cut bait and ran", as if it's a lost cause.

I just thought that if you care to keep moving, there are many Teamster pipeline jobs that will work in one area, then move on the another project/region when that particular one is done.
They've got quite a phenomenal pension rate too.

As a side note I was banned over at truckersreport because I am a Teamster,.....

I see that Walleye. Banning due to our union affiliation is completely wrong!
Thanks for the tanker outfit idea
