Wonder why it took this guy 35 years to say something unless it was because he was afraid the same thing would happen to him

DETROIT (AP) — Investigators will take soil samples from the ground beneath a suburban Detroit driveway after a man told police he believes he witnessed the burial of missing Teamsters leader Jimmy Hoffa about 35 years ago, police said Wednesday.

Roseville Police Chief James Berlin said his department received a tip from a man who said he saw a body buried approximately 35 years ago and "thinks it may have been Jimmy he saw interred."

Latest possible Hoffa burial site draws visitors

News of the search has brought attention to the mostly working- and middle-class suburb from both the curious and naysayers. Slowly moving vehicles have clogged the residential street as camera-wielding neighbors snapped photos for keepsakes.
Cindi Frank, 57, walked over from her home a block away to snap photos of the driveway. The daughter of a unionized driver and salesman for a Detroit bakery, Frank remembers conversations about Hoffa while he was alive and rumors about his fate.

I guess until they actually find his body, we will keep hearing all these theories. It is amazing to me that this many years later, this story still gets this much attention. He obviously captivated many people during his life and continues to long after his death.

Police to search for remains of Jimmy Hoffa under driveway in Roseville

This is an article the TDU posted. Today is the day they dig the driveway up. Wouldn't it be something if it was him. They interviewed his daughter but no word from Junior. Interesting.

Hoffa’s daughter, Barbara Crancer, a retired St. Louis administrative judge, said she doesn’t hold out much hope the search will produce her father’s body or solve the mystery of his disappearance.

“I don’t put much credence into it,” she said this afternoon. “I don’t think the case will ever be solved. Too many people are dead and gone. I believe there are people out there who know what happened, but they’re not talking.”

“After so many false turns, I’ll be surprised if anything comes of it. But as his daughter, I would like to have a body to bury.”

I guess you could say that many people still follow the life story of Hoffa. One might even say that hoffa jr will be long talked about after he leaves this world as the azz that took down the Freight Teamsters that his dad lost his life over.

As much as I disapprove of the way JP Hoffa has ran our union I still have sympathy for his not having closure in the loss of his father.

I do too. It would be a good thing if it turns out to be Hoffa so everyone can put closure to this.

There's a book out called "I heard you paint houses" it was a good read it was about the guy who supposedly did the hit. It was written on the death bed and soon to be a movie.

I read the book and it was great. I think we had a discussion about this book a couple of years ago here on TOL. I thought someone had posted that another movie was in the works about Hoffa but I have heard nothing since.
