Default The Life and Legacy of General President Emeritus Hoffa

Really sorry his son chose not to continue with his father's legacy. This is a couple of days late but still worth taking the time to read.
“I shook his hand!” “He remembered my name.” “He was always one of us.” “He changed my life.” These comments and hundreds more like them still can be heard at Teamster retiree meetings held at union halls and truck stops all across the country.

The man they speak of, who was regarded as a friend by some, a miracle worker by others and a brother by all, was James R. Hoffa, General President of the Teamsters Union from 1957 to 1971. The words are spoken with a sense of awe and reverence that has not faded in the long decades since he first took office. Few of us have the opportunity to impact the lives of millions of workers. Hoffa did.

Today, Teamsters everywhere celebrate the anniversary of Hoffa’s birth on Feb. 14, 1913.
Always seeking to improve the lives of workers, Hoffa became a catalyst for change through groundbreaking events like the signing of the National Master Freight Agreement in 1964, which brought more the 450,000 workers and 16,000 companies under one contract.

Jimmy was a good man , not like his son , what his son never understood and still does not understand is suing people is not the answer , all people do is laugh at that , the answer is to fight , shut roads down and YES get arrested , the minute you are afraid of someone or something your FINISHED , The Teamsters need a real leader and one who is not afraid of anything or anyone until we have a leader like that we will never be as strong , as we use to be .
Remember one thing in life , if you yell at someone the will laugh at you , but if you smack someone then you get their attention .

The impression i get form the Teamsters today is that they are afraid of getting sued (can't do that they will sue us) my opinion of that is who cares, thats what i pay dues for, so go piss off the company let them know you mean business, like union 282 says smackem in the face if you have too, than they will understand you mean business. IMO Jr. seems more interested in looking out for the Company, than the dues paying members.

Last year on July 1 , our contract was up , we voted in June to strike unless our demands were met , the National in Washington knew of our vote to strike , we received a letter from the National saying if we strike we are not allowed to block any entrance to a jobsite , we have to stay 25 feet away from the entrance to a jobsite and we have to hold our signs strait not sideways because sideways is considered a threating act , everyone in the union hall laughed that night at the Nationals rules , well we did not have to strike because 3 days before the strike the G.C.A. (General Contractors Association) Agreed on our demands .
If a local had to strike how can anyone take that strike seriously with rules like that , Jr. is a lawyer NOT a union man

That is the dumbest f'n idea I ever heard. Are you Guys familiar with the term, malice aforethought?

Because it is a major contribution to domestic terrorism.

So don't give them what they want.

The only time you strike someone is in self-defense, and the best way to handle this situation with union leadership is through a peaceful protest.

Use legal documentation and legislation to have them step-down from office, because that is best way to show proper leadership for a great organization.

Good, because the feds chose the new way.

"New analytics technologies exist that can pore through huge amounts of social media data to uncover locations and patterns and analyze sentiment. Social media analytics (SMA) can continuously monitor online and social conversation data to identify important topics and content categories. In addition, some estimates are that less than one-half of all Twitter traffic is in English.1 SMA technology can analyze content written in any major language.

Predictive analytics can be used to see a criminal threat develop, view where the threat may exist, and allow law enforcement to quickly intercede to prevent a crime from occurring. With analytics employed, it is possible to identify the threat before the incident unfolds.

From a predictive perspective, when an individual tweets or posts information about a target, a crime, and a specific time, intent is apparent. It does not cross the line to an overt act of conspiracy until people arrive at the location and commit the crime. When people agree on a criminal plan and put the plan into action, it becomes a violation of law, and arrests can be made as long as probable cause exists."
