Teamsters Thank Liam Neeson For Support Of Horse Carriage Drivers And HorsesCouncilmembers were invited to ask questions about the care and treatment of the animals and saw firsthand how well the horses live.

Neeson, a horse lover who supports the horse carriage drivers, offered to show City Councilmembers for themselves how well the horses are treated.

"Horse-carriages are iconic symbols of New York representing the beauty and charm of the city as well as the opportunity they provide for working-class people like me," said Colm McKeever, horse carriage driver and member of Teamster Local 553.

And the Mayor never even showed up . This Mayor will NOT back down on this issue , there are millions and millions of dollars worth of real estate up for grabs , and his buddies who donated lots of money to his campaign are lined up to bid on the property
They don't care that 300 Teamsters are going to be put out of work

Neeson, who came out late last month against Mayor de Blasio’s proposal to replace the horses near Central Park with replica antique electric cars, went to the Clinton Park Stables on West 52nd Street Sunday along with members of city council and the Teamsters union.

We want to work with the folks who operate those horse carriages and get them new opportunities in other types of related work,” de Blasio said. “For example, the antique replica cars that we want to establish as the alternative to the horse carriages, that’s a great employment opportunity for those same folks.”
