Default Will Hoffa and Hall Try to Impose the UPS Contract?

"It's time for Hoffa and Hall to act like Teamster leaders instead of UPS enforcers.
Hoffa and Hall are considering a secret plan to impose the UPS contract by taking away members’ Right to Vote on the rejected supplements. UPS Teamsters in Louisville, Philadelphia, and Western Pennsylvania have Voted No and rejected their supplements. Now Hoffa and Hall are considering a plan to take away their right to vote and impose the UPS contract."

Well, he was OK with everyone becoming 25% Teamsters for the next five years with a different company, without any complaints from other members or locals. What is the difference if he makes the decisions here? I believe he make good decisions for UPS too.

If the possible imposing of the UPS contract by Hoffa and Hall and their complete silence on what is going on in Maspeth, NY at the UPS facility there right now isn't the last straw for us all to either throw them out in the next general president election or consider better representation elsewhere with a decert vote then I don't know what is.

In the Teamsters Union, we don't have mid-term elections, but we should. Force a recall election and rebuild the Teamsters. Let's show them who the Teamsters are. Recall Hoffa.

The problem I see here are the uneducated.. There are many teamster members that didn't have a clue about what is going on at the IBT.. He ran on his fathers name and the sheep voted for him.. What you have to do is get UPS union members heavily involved.. you want numbers, there are numbers..

The sad part is that freight and parcel members are very few compared to all of the others that are now organized. At a union meeting this was right from our union local people. Freight is around 4% of the teamsters and of that 4% cause the most problems for the union. I think we need to educate the others first for us to rid these guys. Let's only hope that some of the others can wake up and see the true colors that our current leaders are showing.

If the last election at UPS was any indication of members that are aware of the union, then the union is in trouble.
The voters numbered around 1/3 of the members eligible to vote.
Were they the only interested ones, or the only informed ones ?

I would beg to disagree that we're in any trouble... Members are waking up, other Teamsters are taking notice, and things can only go up from here. 4/10/14
"Teamsters union members in Louisville, Ky., overwhelmingly rejected a part of a contract with United Parcel Service Inc., creating more headaches for the company as it looks to end months of negotiations with its labor force.
In a vote counted on Thursday, the Teamsters' local bargaining unit rejected the supplement 2,804 to 185."

4/9/14 marks the date the members took back control over the direction of this Union, through grassroots engagement in a public awareness campaign and by forcing not only IBT officials, but the company back to the table in Maspeth to negotiate a settlement in this groundbreaking dispute.

"'Under the agreement reached yesterday with UPS, Local 804 acknowledges that the union’s internal procedures for authorizing a strike were not properly followed on Feb. 26 and we have agreed to communicate the proper procedure to all union members," Local 804 said in a statement. "The work stoppage ... was legal under the union contract with UPS.'"
