    Default Advice needed

How would you guys handle this situation?

So on Friday my employer called a company wide meeting and decided to read aloud the grievances I filed to the entire membership and all management, they also made subtle changes to suit their attack needs. To me it is the most unprofessional action I have ever observed. How am I suppose to accept grievances now from my members if this is how the company is going to treat them?

I would be on the phone with your BA in a heartbeat.. If they want to share then you should have the union there also..

Oh I did, I also recorded audio of it with my cell phone. It is the weekend I don't want to hound the BA too much but something has to be done.

You, Your Steward , And the other Drivers should of refused to participate unless a B.A. was Present to address the Grievances. I don't know the laws in Canada but in the U.S.A. you can not go around recording people that's against federal law , so be careful about that .

I am the chief steward, I recorded it openly because it was a public spectacle with no expectation of privacy. Here, much like the USA, when a grievance is filed it is between the union, and the company. They used this as a mockery of the process and I am left wondering how I am to represent workers (plant and drivers) if their concerns are to be aired to everyone. Imagine if a worker filed a grievance for harassment and they did this terrible thing to that grievance?

Here we get a grievance in by the seventh day to be timelly. I'd find a few grievances which relate and talk to BA aabout the best one it more to file. They may have even broke laws so I think I would pick the strongest to go against whoever was responsible for the handling to make sure it never happens again. If the BA's answer isn't strong enough to satisfy go over his head to the president and if that aint strong enough go higher than him.
Informing the members of every degrading write up excluding names may or may not be an option.
Harassment surelly seems to be a possible charge.
They are quite obviously singling you out.

Only sometimes you can't record people.
Some states are 1 party, and some are two party.
In a 1 party state, only one person has to know the conversation is being recorded, that would be you if you push the button.
In a two party state, both parties must know the conversation is being recorded.
