For the full scoop on this and all the boring details and how the "points" are determined and what is charged to you the driver. Some of this is way off base. "Should Failure to list carrier name in duty status records" be charged 2 points to the driver while "Smoking less than 25 feet from empty cargo tank used for flammables" be charged only one point? Should a "False entry on medical examiner's certificate" be charged to the driver? I don't think many of us are qualified medical examiners nor would know what answer to put on the form. If you burn out a headlight there is six points. That is total crap.

The ATA has also put their $.03 into the pot with a response to this. Some of their stuff makes more logic but remember they are protecting the member carriers not the driver.

Some of this stuff is going to hit drivers like a ton of bricks since now the carriers can access the information from the feds. While it could weed out the poor drivers I feel that good ones could be hit too.
