Union Will Ensure Company Compliance with Agreement Terms

WASHINGTON, Nov. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Workers at UPS Freight represented by the Teamsters Union have ratified a new five-year agreement that was the company's last, best and final offer, averting a national strike. Members approved the contract by a 77 percent to 23 percent margin at local union meetings held from Nov. 7 until today. The agreement covers approximately 11,600 workers at the company.

The final vote was 6,935 in favor and 2,067 opposed with 84 percent of eligible members voting.

Just a follow up story about the UPS contract.
Read some of the comment section.

UPS workers describe company reign of terror in wake of Teamsters sellout
It is more than two months since the Teamsters union illegitimately ratified a sellout five-year national labor contract covering a quarter of a million United Parcel Service (UPS) workers. The union utilized a loophole in its constitution to despotically override a 54 percent “no” vote by the membership.
One month later, the Teamsters forced through a separate contract on 13,000 subsidiary UPS Freight division workers, after making them vote again on virtually the same agreement they had already rejected. The Teamsters threatened the freight workers with a lockout and the loss of medical benefits if they continued to resist the company-backed deal and declared that they would instruct workers at the much larger parcel division to remain on the job if the freight workers went on strike.
The outcome of the union’s gangsterism is a series of far-reaching attacks that will permanently reduce the conditions and wages of current and future UPS workers. These include the creation of a new tier of lower-paid hybrid warehouse/drivers—a first step for extending the conditions of part-time work from the warehouse to the delivery drivers—and the maintenance of poverty-level wages for hundreds of thousands of warehouse employees who remain part-time employees.

This story is about the UPS contract for locals 705 & 710 in the Chicago area.
Why news is only available on the web site I am posting the story from is beyond me. It's almost like a news block-out has been imposed.

Teamsters union releases new sellout contracts for 15,000 Midwest UPS workers
    28 December 2018
Two months after the Teamsters union imposed a concessions-filled contract on a quarter of a million United Parcel Service (UPS) workers across the US, the Teamsters Locals 705 and 710—which cover thousands of UPS employees who work under a separate contract—are seeking to impose a virtually indistinguishable sellout.
In October, the Teamsters utilized an anti-democratic constitutional loophole to despotically override a 54 percent “no” vote by tens of thousands of UPS drivers and warehouse employees. It then imposed a separate sellout contract on 12,000 UPS Freight workers, forcing them to vote again on an agreement they had already rejected and threatening that they would be locked out and lose their healthcare if they resisted the pro-company deal.
Local 705 covers workers in Chicago, Illinois, including more than 9,000 workers at the large Chicago Area Consolidation Hub (CACH). Local 710 covers more than 6,000 UPS workers in Indiana, Illinois and Iowa. Both have maintained separate contracts from the national master agreement since the 1960s. The Teamsters released the local agreements last week, and workers are due to conclude voting on January 11 for Local 710, and January 26, 2019 for Local 705.

Everyone at are terminal has a bumper sticker that saids "The Teamsters Sold Us Out" which IMO they did.....we must get better leadership before the next election or the teamsters are doom(You can include all the middle class).....because losing union membership is losing union power and that must not happen....we need a change at the top and badly.
