Default Is your barn merged yet?

I would like to start one thread where we all can give out the information when your barn was merged. And how it happened.

We have been told in (roadway) Winston-Salem and Yellow's High Point terminal was going to be merged about the week after Thanksgiving. But now we are told it would not happen until March 09.

On a bigger note Charlotte, NC has a break bulk just like we do here in Winston-Salem, and it is only 85 miles apart. We have been told one of them are closing the BB. Which one? We do not know yet. We have been told it will be announced sometime in December 08. But that could change also.

On the rumor mill... Charlotte is a different local than we are. What has been thrown around by people who I will not call there names is this....

In the last 6 months the Charlotte Local has issued a 72 hour notice to strike three or four times. Also this was the local holding up the NMFA and supplements passing to my understanding. This was the answer given when the question was asked what might be Winstons-Salems saving grace. That the higher ups would look at labor issues also when considering what BB to close down.

Here is something off of YRC's website and shows the 2 systems before and after the merger is complete. I'm not sure if you'll be able to tell if Winston-Salem will still be open or not. Scroll down to the maps with the dots on them.

You are just playing catch up up today. I looked at the map the other day. Dots are still there for both. I understand why, because one will be going to a satellite terminal so the dots will still be there.

Here in denver they want to keep both terminals open. they want use our Yellow terminal for linehall operations and use the shop for both linehall and city pm's and major repairs. The Roadway terminal will be used for city operations. This will start around Dec 14 and in the shop they will double our work and if we get more teamsters it won't be tell March.

Welcome to Teamstersonline.com DARKHORSE Thanks for the info.... We have two terminals on our property. It has been on and off about using one for just P&D and the other for BB. Things are changing every day. Today might be one thing and tomorrow something else. I think this is happening because this is such a big task.

Denver and Salt Lake City are going to be the first big break terminals to be combined and will serve as a trial to see how best to do the other big terminals when the time comes.

I'm assuming (!) that it will be the Dec. 8th COO. Then the union hears it in Jan. it becomes implemented and completed by March 09.....(operative word is assume).
