    Default YRC seeks economic relief

Go to Teamsters.org and read the good news. It just keeps getting better and better. check Teamsters.org for updates. It basically says the Teamsters have allowed talks as to preserving Teamster jobs and benefits. The S@P credit rating has hurt their ability to get credit.

And there's not a doubt in my mind, that the union will allow them to cut pay, reduce benefits or a combination of the two. All in the name of saving Teamster jobs.

What a friggin joke. The company has saved enough money by merging the 2 companies together. Look at how many men are going to loose their jobs, under the merger. I say screw these companies. It's a clear case of give them an inch, and they will take a mile.

This is clearly a case, where the union can have a say in the way a company wants to do business. The contract language should stand.
No more cuts regarding the men and women at these two companies.

These companies will stop at nothing to further reduce their out of pocket expenses, regarding labor. It wont be long before they ask for money from the government bailout as well.

I'm disgusted by this situation. I've watched YRC destroy well run profitable companies and they now want to turn to us for help. Maybe if YRC had some real freight people running this company instead of bean counters we would not be in this position.

There is one thing I want answered and we better know before voting. Is management also taking a pay cut?

The Teamster notice says they are "seeking
economic relief in the National Master Freight Agreement"
so if they are in it yes.

I do not believe they are. I believe the drivers are owner/operators.
