Default Bill Zollar$ "Everything will be fine"

Here's a letter we received yesterday. The last line is cut off to make it a one page deal.

I think Bill is just trying to tell us everything is fine and we are experts at getting out of jams like this. So until we get our corporate jet flight down to the gulf where we can board our private multi-million dollar yachts, everything will be juuuuust fiiiine. When we get into international waters, where we are immune from prosecution, then you can freak out.

Sounds very similar to the propaganda letters we recieved at PTS, just before they went under. There are forces at work here, way beyond the grasp of the average joe. This plan was thought up along time ago. It was merely a matter of when to roll it out. Everybody is taking full advantage to the economic downturn, to make a killing, or cut costs. Things will be very interesting going further.

Look, I was part of the CF/Conway debacle. I know exactly how I felt going through that situation. This doesn't have the same look and feel.

Things are bad for everyone. This isn't just a YRC problem, it is a global financial crisis. That doesn't excuse Zollars from his mistakes at all. But we have to look at this from a "survival" point of view.

In the past, we could just go to the next union barn and start over. If Yellow/Roadway goes, we all go with it. There isn't another union barn that can absorb Yellow/Roadway employees to run to. We have got to ride this out together without pointing fingers. We have got to stand up as real men and women and do the best we can for our families.

We need to do the best we can to make this work. Anger towards management just isn't an option at this point. We need to work hard everyday and do our job. If we get laid off, we have the ability to get another job.

We are Americans, we never give up. Happy Thankgiving to everyone!

I think what he meant was, "I'll be just fine."

Every scummy CEO will be fine, the better they screw the workforce and public, the more cash they have rat holed off shore.

I wasn't even in LTL back then and I saw the writing on the wall when I saw all the ConWay divisions. I knew then it was a matter of time for CF .. YRCW has not got a Non-Union LTL carrier pumped up and ready to take-over. This is a plus.

    From: Office of Bill Zollars
    Sent: Fri 11/28/2008 3:49 PM
    To: All_YRC_Worldwide_Employees
Subject: Update on Teamsters discussions, actions to improve our position

    To: All YRC Worldwide employees

This is to provide you with an update about our ongoing work to improve the
financial position and operations of YRC Worldwide. We're working together
with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters to establish a more
competitive cost structure for YRC Worldwide - to improve our competitive
position and defend the long-term prospects and job security of employees.

Today, we're announcing that we've reached a tentative agreement with
Teamsters leadership to modify the National Master Freight Agreement for
union employees with Yellow Transportation, Roadway, Holland and New Penn.
Details are expected to be available next week, and we anticipate union
    ratification in December.

    Today's news release is posted on yrcw.com <http://yrcw.com/> .

As details come together, we'll provide updates and more information.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Zollars

    Chairman, President and CEO
