    Default TEAMSTER POWER

Do you feel that the TEAMSTERS sould demand that YRC close all non Union US subsidairies if allowed concessions.

I"ll start it off with my opinion. I think that the only good thing that may come out of this disaster is that if the members and the union stick together and demand that all non union subsidiaries in the US be closed or sold (preferably closed) It will eliminate a serious threat to the TEAMSTERS at YRC from a enemy from within. How could the union allow them to have non union companies competing against the very people giving money back to save the corporation. I feel if YRC gets concessions and keeps the non union subsidiaries it will be a matter of time until it eats up the union branches

How about YRC Logistics. Then how about they can't start up any. I believe they will try to have a non union branch move all their containers around once the China company kicks in. They should not be allowed any non union subsidiaries.

I forgot about them, but I bet they are the smallest part of the pie.

I think it's a great idea, but they will never go for it. And the union would never enforce the deal either. They would rather cut your pay, so as not to loose the almighty monthly dues. Sorry to tell all of you guys, but even the paycut will probably fail. But it will save them a boat load of cash on the way out.

I know everyone is afraid of loosing their jobs, but going out with pride, is better than going out without it. Don't hate the messenger, just hate the message.

It may seem like a small piece of the pie now TEAMSTER but least I inform you my BROTHERS and SISTERS at YRC can not now afford anyone having any piece of your pie. I know you speak of being conservative but damn BROTHER you are in a fight for your very future. Don't it bother you that if concessions are given some of the money that was once earmarked for your family will now be being spent by a non union YRC employee who's very existence is because thousands of TEAMSTERS for years worked hard so ZOLLARS had the freedom to start such a project. I just feel I would be demanding any and all non necessary endeavours cease while spending my hard earned money.

I don't have all the answers, but all I know is when YRC is gone I will never find a job here locally making 1/2 of what I make now. No one but another LTL company and they are not hiring now or probably none much to speak of in the next year.

All I know is I could care less who makes what and who gets what as long as YRC is still open in the end.

If and when YRC goes out. Over 40,000 Teamsters will not have a job. Over 40,000! and lets not forget to what will happen to the pension finds and current retirees. Many pension funds will fall underfunded and will get taken over by the government and all retirees checks will be reduced to the maximum of $1250.00

I need to find this info on-line somewhere.

I understand Teamster. But it's that kind of leverage that is letting the company get away with this kind of crap right now. They want out of the teamster deal all together. They want to pay men half of what your making, they want to get out of the pension fund. Thats why they have a non-union division in place right now.

General motors is in the same mess right now too. You will not win over corporate greed. You had better start looking for a plan b brother. I have been on layoff for more than five months, you would be surprised at how much less you can live on, and if you can't live on less, it's time to change your life style my friend.

These companies don't care about you the employee's. And the only thing the IBT cares about is the pension fund, and the union dues. One thing is for sure. It's what our BA, says to us all the time, he will have a job whether I do or not. Our union leaders don't give a damn about you either.

That is the problem i have with our leadership. You can all loose your jobs today, and all of them will still have jobs tomorrow. And at the same rate of compensation. I feel for every man involved in this mess, but you need to get ready for the fall thats coming, and i mean right now brother.

I don't blame the current leadership for all our problems right now, but it's kind of funny, that every division of the teamsters has suffered huge losses and concessions under the current administration, yet they continue to get raise after increase.

This whole mess was carefully constructed to occur. And the only winners will be corporate america, and the leaders of the ibt, cause no matter how much shrinking occurs to our pension funds, they have several pensions to fall back on.

When the huge problems were happening in the carhaul sector, i didn't get much support, now that it's happening in the freight sector, more guys will see the problem. I wish the best for every Teamster trucker out there, but i'm sorry to say the deck is stacked against you.

There is life without a union job, it's ust not as good. As always i'm open to any comments .
